yes my friend you can write the civil services examination being a graduate from the marine engineering branch, because for giving the civil services examination, you need to be a gradute from a recognized indian university in any stream.
Yes there is an age limit for giving the civil services exam.
It is 21-30 years for the general category
21-33 years for the obc category
And 21-35 years for the sc/st category

This exam conducted by the UPSC once in a year.Eligibility criteria:- Candidate should be complete graduation from a recognised university.No need of percentage restrictions.Candidate should be a citizen of INDIA.Age limits:-Minimum 21 years and maximum --> 30years.Relaxation is as per govt rules.

You should be in final year of graduation. Your age should be between 21 to 30 years.. Age relaxation ========= Sc/St + 5 years OBC + 3 years You must be the citizen of India. The essential qualification for the Civil Service Examination is to pass the Bachelor degree in any discipline at any recognized university. So if your university is a recognized from UGC, then you can definitely appear for the examination. The age limit for the examination is within 21-30 years. The upper age limit for the examination is 03 years for OBC and 05 years for SC/ST candidates. There is only 04 chances for General candidates, 07 chances for OBC and up to 35 years of age for SC/ST candidates to appear the examination. Yes you are definitely eligible for UPSC - civil services exams because you are holding a degree in engineering and according to upsc board and government rules every graduate is eligible to apply for civil services exam who is possessing a degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks and SC/STs are allowed with 45% marks too but the limitation in age should be 21-30 years means the candidate's age should not be more than 30 years of age and less than 21 but if he/she belong to reserved category then they are eligible till 35 years for SC/ST and 33 years for OBCs and for all UPSC - Civil services exams the above mentioned age criteria is applicable means no change in any of the - IAS, IPS, IFS, IFoS, IES etc.

2. Academic qualification : Graduate in any stream from any recognized university.

To write civil service exam, you have to fall within the following criteria:
1. Nationality : Indian
2. Graduate from any recognised university
3. age:
21-30 (open)
21-33 (obc)
21-35 (sc/st)

As you are a graduate, you are eligible. Stream does not matter.
