    dear aspirant,

you can become an IAS officer through UPSC Civil Services Exam.
The Exam is conducted By UPSC Every year.

There is no reserved quota for the IAS post for any category. All categories are considered equally. The posts of IAS varies every year according to the vacancies.

For Civil Services there is only relaxation for reserved categories is regarding Age Limit and Number of Attempt.

    Eligibility Criteria For Civil Services:

    >>you must have completed or appearing in final year of graduation in any discipline.

    >>your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. there is relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

    Limit Of Number Of Attempts:
    General: 4 attempts
    OBC: 7 attempts
    SC/ST: No Limit

Important dates of Civil Services exam in 2013:

    CSAT(Prelims):
    date of Notification:05.03.2013
last date of receipt of application:04.04.2013
    date of exam:26.05.2013

    Mains:
    date of exam:01-12-2013

UPSC also provide the facility to apply for the exam online on following official link of UPSC:

    hello

friend no. of vacancies varies, its not stable.

some times the no.of seat vacant is less then the no. of candidates applied.

its true there are certain relaxation for sc/st in the case of age limit ,no of times of attempt but it doesn't guarantee post.

candidates gets the post based on their capability and performance in the exam and interview, seats available

so other than hard work,no one help you out.

to filter the no.of candidates they put stages for civil service exam

    1)preliminary test
2)main exam=who clear the preliminary test, are eligible for main exam0
    3)inteview

    upsc updates is on =www.upsc.gov.in

"there is no elevator for success with out applying hard work"

    good luck

    thank you

    Hello

There is no posts which is reserved for any particular category in IAS.Every category are equal and will have to earn the place. But no such reservation is there for any particular category.

Yes it is true that the reserved category have some sorts of relaxation, like in terms of age, number of attempts they can attempt. But seat is never reserved.
