the minimum age to appear for the IFS exam is 21 years.
The minimum age Is same for all the categories, but the maximum age differs as per the categories due to the relaxation.
The maximum age for giving the exam by an obc candidate is 33 years.
For a general category candidate, it is 30 years
And for sc/st category, it is 35 years

• Firstly you must be the citizen of India.
• The age of your's need to be in between 21 years to 30 years as on 1st july of the year of examination.
• Age relaxations upto 5 years is provided to sc/st category, upto 3 years to obc category and upto 10 years for physically handicapped students.

If you are pursuing final year of degree or appearing final year examination or final year examination result is going to be announced then also you may apply for IAS, IFoS etc. examination conducted by UPSC board

Your age should be minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years and if you cross the maximum age limit then you may claim for upper age relaxation but this facility is only for SC, ST and OBC that is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

Selection Procedure :

Civil Service Preliminary Examination - 400 marks objective type two papers

Mains Examination - 6 papers in conventional type pattern (only in english language )

The minimum age limit to apply for IFS exam is 21 years on 1st August of Notification year.

If you have applied for 2013 exam then you must have completed the age of 21 before 1. August. 2013.

Maximum age limit is 30 years for general, 33 for OBC and 35 for SC and ST candidates.

Now there is screening exam of IFS also.

Candidates willing to take IFS exam need to clear Civil Service Pre exam.

There can be filled single application form for both exams.

According to latest pattern the same exam will be conducted for screening candidates for IFS and CS mains exams.

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate must have attained 21 year & must not have attained 30 year on 1st august of the year of examination.
The Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 year for OBC, 5 year for SC/ST,up to 3 year for defence service personnel & the upper age limit is also relaxed for certain other categories.

Educational Qualification:-

The candidate must hold a Bachelor degree with at least one of the following subjects:
Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry, Agriculture Engineering, Forestry Engineering.

Maximum age is 30 years.

Age relaxation is given to reserved category students.

Age relaxation;---

3 years age relaxation for OBC category

5 years age relaxation for SC/ST category

10 years for PH candidates

The IFS Examination Consist of Objective Type with Multiple Choice and This Examination is also having Negative Marking System

You should have any one of the like, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science /Botany /Chemistry /Geology /Mathematics /Physics /Statistics /Zoology Etc... in Bachelor degree Course.

Important Dates for IFS exam;-

Last dates for Filling Application is 4th April 2013 which is over.

-like civil service exam ,IFoS EXAM WILL be 2 tier examination .
-civil service preliminary test serves as the screening test for both civil service and IFoS
-notification for both the exam (civil service and IFoS will be done simultaneously .the application can be called as combined application form for civil service and IFoS

-AGE limit=21-30 years
-educational qualification=bachelor degree with one of the following listed subject

*botany
*chemistry
