Dear There,

NDA stands for National Defense Academy. Candidates passed 10+2/Equivalent or pursuing in final year are eligible for NDA Examinations. As diploma is considered equivalent to 10+2/Intermediate so, you are eligible for taking up this examination.The NDA examination is conducted by the UPSC twice every year in the month of April & August as NDA I & NDA II.

The eligibility required for NDA examinations are:

* Candidates passed 10+2/equivalent or pursuing in the final year from a recognized board are eligible to apply.

* Candidates with any stream in 10+2/equivalent are eligible to apply but if they are willing to join Airforce / Navy then Physics and Mathematics should be the compulsory subjects.

* Age must lie in between 16.5 to 19 years.

No relaxation in upper age is granted to OBC/SC/ST candidates.

* Citizenship - Indian or,

A subject of Nepal / Bhutan

* Sex - Male

Female candidates are not eligible for this examination.

* Marital Status - Unmarried

* Fitness - Physically & Mentally Fit.

I am sorry to say but the final year students of the diploma are not eligible for giving the NDA exam.
Because for giving this exam you should be a 12th class passed/appeared. If you are not among this, then I am sorry but you are not eligible for giving the exam.
The age limit for giving the exam is 16.5-19 years. For the confirmation, you can log onto the official website of the upsc.

Sorry , you are not eligible for NDA exam being an diploma students.

For NDA exam candidate should have passed his 12th in PCM .

Other Requirements :

1. Candidate should not married.
2. Only male candidates are eligible.
3. Candidate should be physically good.
4. Candidate must be citizen of India.

NDA exam because eligibility criteria for NDA exam is as under.


Educational qualifications


Candidate should be 12th passed /appeared from a govt recognized university.


Candidate should be the citizen of India.


Candidate must be medically fit.


Candidate age must be in between 16.5-19 years.


Candidate height must be minimum 157 cm.

the educational qualification for appearing in NDA examination is:-
candidate should have passed class 12th examination from any recognized Board.

Requirement for NDA is basically 12th std with PCM for Air force and Indian navy, Any stream for Indian army and OTA...
If you've not completed 12th then I'm sorry you are not eligible for NDA...

Required Qualifications

Army Academy :- you must complete your 12th class in any stream.
Navy and Air-Force Academy :- you must complete your 12th class with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics Subjects.

Your age must between 16.5 - 19 years.

Only Unmarried Male Candidates Allowed.

Height: 157.5 cms.
Chest: 79cms. to 84cms.

To apply for the NDA examination, you have to pass the 10+2 science stream with physics, chemistry and mathematics as the subjects. The age limit is within 16.5 to 19 years. Friend, please note that# There is no any hard and fast rule that any diploma holder or pursuing the diploma cannot apply for the NDA Examination.# If the candidate is fulfilling all the rwquired eligibility conditions, then there is no any matter of issue.# If the candidate has the age between 16.5 years to 19 years, then he may apply.# As far as educational qualification is concerned we know that diploma is considered equivalent to the intermediate level.# There is a strange gender based restriction that only boys are permitted for NDA Examination. Girls are not considered eligible for the NDA Examination.# Candidate must have the height of 157.5 cm and 162 cm for army and Navy/Airforce respectively.# Candidate neither be OVER-WEIGHT nor UNDER-WEIGHT. The weight of the candidate must be in accordance to the height & age.# Eye sight of the candidate must be 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye without COLOUR BLINDNESS and glucoma or cataract.

You should Complete 12th Board Examination in any discipline from recognized university .

For Army Academy :- Any stream candidates are eligible to apply for Army academy .

For Naval and Airforce Academy :- Only Science stream with Physics and Mathematics in 12th Board Examination are eligible for Airforce and Naval Academy .


Age Limit :-

Your age should be 16 1/2 Years to 19 years and You should Born in between ( 02 / 07 / 1993 and 01 / 01 /1996 ) . There is no relaxation applicable for any category candidates . and You should be Unmarried male candidate

You must be an Indian Citizen

YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED 12TH CLASS FROM A RECOGNIZED UNIVERSITY

The minimum age must be 16.5 years

Maximum age is allowed up to 19 years

Any diploma holder candidates can't apply for any exams which conducts by UPSC. NDA exam is the 12th based level if you have passed 12th from recognized board then apply for it otherwise you can't apply.

NDA exam because eligibility criteria for NDA exam is as under.

so dear if you are in 11 th class than i advice you to wait for one year and do more preparation for the same
because the minimum criteria required for the same is not satisfied by you.

so wait and complete your enter and than try ,you can try also while you are in 12th running.

Dear aspirant,Yes of course a 3 years diploma holder can apply for NDA examination.National defence academy examination is conducted twice in a year to select people in different branch like indian air force navy and indian army.To apply for the same examination candidates should be 16.5 years to 19 years of age.Qualification for the would be 10 2 in any stream for simply army and 10 2 with physics and maths for indian air force and navy as well. Equivalent to the same can also apply fir the same.Candidates are required to be physically and mentally fit.Girls cannot apply for NDA examination as only boys are eligible for the same. But if you are final year of diploma that thus means that your age should must Have exceeded 19,,

which is the Upper bound of Age limit for NDA

According to eligiblity criteria of NDA :

>> you must have age in mid of 16.5 to 19

>> you should have cleared 12th from any recognized Board

>> you must be Unmarried male

Eligibility for National Defense Academy:-
Must pass or Final year of Intermediate or 12th class standard with science subjects.
Age limits are:16 1/2 to 19 years.

***You have completed Diploma course which is the course after 10th standard .
If you joined Diploma directly after 10th standard then you are not eligible to apply for NDA examination.
If you joined Diploma course after 12th standard then only you will get eligibility.

You will also gets admissions in Defense services with Graduation so, complete Graduation in engineering.........

Below are the eligibility conditions for the NDA Exam 2013:

Educational qualification:

For Army: 12th pass from recognized board or any equivalent

For Air force, Navy and Naval academy: 12th pass with physics and maths as subjects from recognized board or equivalent.

Age criteria:Candidate Born between 2nd January, 1995 and 1st July 1997.

So, if you satisfy the above criteria then you can surely apply for NDA Exam.

So dear if you complete the above mentioned criteria then definitely you are eligible for the course, but if you are not eligible in any of the above mentioned criteria then i am sorry you do not give NDA exam.

2. IMA
3. OTA

Yes definitely final year diploma students are eligible for NDA & NA Exam. NDA & NA Exam is conducted by UPSC twice a year for the recruitment of candidates in the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force wings of NDA. You just have to satisfy the basic eligibility criteria to appear for the Exam.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC NDA - National Defense Academy Exam 2013

Indian Military/Army : Candidate should have passed class 12th in any discipline from a recognized board

Indian Navy and Indian Air Force : Candidate should have passed class 12th with mathematics and physics as a compulsory subject and any one of the biology/chemistry/computer science from a recognized board

Age should not be less than 16.5 years and more than 19 years age limit is not relaxable in any circumstances

Dear if you have not completed your 12th class and completed a diploma course then you are not eligible to apply for this exam but dear if you have completed your diploma course under any recognized board and passed that through the examination of state board then you can apply for this exam
