Conducted by : UPSC Once in a year

Age : 21yrs to 30yrs for General Candidates

Age Relaxations : 3yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/ST Candidates

IAS stands for Indian administrative service.IAS comes into civil services.
To become an IAS officer firstly you give civil services examination.Which is conducts by upsc once in every year.

Minimum age required to write UPSC civil service exam is 21.Also minimum educational qualification required to write IAS exam is graduation from a recognised university.

One must be GRADUATE minimum and age limit 21-30years to be eligible for Civil services.You need to complete your graduation to be eligible for IAS.As you are not upto the mark now but have a proper aim,so it will be beneficial for you to start preparation for Ciivil services.Whichever subject you choose for graduation,concentrate properly and try to select that as your Main subject in Civil services.Currently read magazines like Pratiyogita darpan or Chronicle etc which are helpful for UPSC exams.

Well friend as you are a 12th pass out and you are 17 years of age then you are not eligible to apply for the ias exam.ias exam is conducted by upsc every year for the selection of students in ias ips and irs post.

Minimum qualification and age limit to apply for IAS examination

Should have completed a degree in any stream of a recognized institute or university or any other equivalent qualification ( No Percentage Marks Required in Degree)

Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines that is 5 years for SC/STs and 3 years for OBC category candidates

If you have completed 12th in commerce stream then it's good but not enough to be eligible for IAS examination because minimum educational qualification is graduation that will take your three more year in any discipline but you may also choose 4 year bachelor's degree course as BE or B.Tech

Your age is also not enough so you should wait for three + years and when you complete your graduation then you should apply for this examination and during this period you can prepare well for this examination by knowing more details about this test - papers, examination pattern, syllabus etc. that are properly mentioned in attached official notification so I would like to request you to download this attached notification and receive all updates related to this exam

Right time for the preparation of this examination will be after completing graduation when you will not have any problem related to any examination except IAS so you will be able to concentrate more on this exam and will qualify easily

No friend at the age of 17 years you can not get eligibility for IAS entrance examination.IAS(Indian Administrative services)is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year.IAS is the part of Civil Services. An IAS candidate to qualify preliminary/CSAT test first then Mains and interview is needed to qualify to get appointment as an IAS officer following merit lists.This is one of the toughest entrance examination in India.Before applying a candidate to go through IAS Eligibility.

IAS ELIGIBILITY:-

1. A Graduate or a final year candidate from the recognized University in any discipline can write IAS entrance examination.

2.AGE: GENERAL: 21-30 years, OBC: 21-33 years, S/C S/T: 21-35 years.PWD: 21-40 years.

3.Nationality: Indian.

4.Attempts: General: 4 attempts, OBC: 7 attempts. S/C S/T: No limit.

So as per eligibility you are not eligible for IAS entrance exams. at the age of 17 years, again I think a normal

human being can not complete his/her Graduation within 17 years of Age.

Well sorry to say,you are not eligible for IAS examination.If you are interested in the IAS examination you must satisfy the below conditions..

IAS: Indian Administrative Service. UPSC should conducts the exam every year.

Eligibility IAS:

You have to complete the graduation in any discipline from any recognized university.

And the age should be 21-30 years.The upper age limit will be applicable for ST/Sc/OBC candidates.

3 years for OBC
4 years for ST/SC

You must be citizen from India.


So after completion of your graduation only you can go for IAS examination.First you have to complete the graduation....

Its good you want to go for IAS entrance exam but I would like to tell you that age is an important criteria in accordance with UPSC exams.

And according to that criteria you are underage and so you are not eligible for the exam even though you may have finished your graduation exams at this age.

So i would like to tell you that you will have to wait for the exam to appear.

Here below I am providing you the eligibility criteria which will make you more clear regarding this exam:-

>> If you have done with your graduation you can appear for the exam.

>> Last year candidates appearing for the graduation exam are also eligible for the exam.

>> Also you must have secured atleast second division marks in your graduation.

no you are not eligible of giving the IAS exam at the age of 17 years.
For giving the IAS exam, the minimum eligibility is the graduation, therefore first you need to complete your graduation and thereafter you can apply for the IAS exam.
Moreover, there is also am age criteria for giving the exam.
It says that you cannot give the IAS exam, unless you are 21 years old.
Therefore, if you want to give the IAS exam, then you need to be a graduate and your age should be at least 21 years

Sorry to say that you can't apply for Civil Services Exam that is conducted by UPSC for the post of IAS. because there are two reasons for you can't apply for the exam. First, you are under aged for the exam because minimum age limit for Civil Services is 21 years. Second, you must have graduation degree and you can't apply for Civil Services Exam on the basis of 12th certificate.

Age Limit:- The aspirant must have attained minimum age 21 year & not have attained maximum 30 year on 1st August of the year of examination.

The upper age limit is relaxed for certain reserved categories.

No friend, at the age of 17 years no one is eligible for the IAS Examination. Minimum required age for the IAS Examination is 21 years. And minimum required educational qualification is graduation in any discipline. So you have to done graduate in any field in order to be eligible for IAS Examination. As normal fixed age limit for IAS examination is 21-30 years alongwith some certain relaxation in upper age for reserved categories.

Yet you wont eligible for Civil services exam because your age and educational qualification. But you can able to achieve right age, all the best.

no dear you are not eligible for ias exam now, inorder to apply for ias exam you must have finished a graduation degree in any field from an ugc recognised university and your age must be in the given limit.

No, You are not eligible for IAS entrance exam , as the minimum educational qualification that is needed is Graduation Degree with the minimum age of 21 years . So as you have said that you are in 10+2 , you are not eligible . Its good that you are interested in IAS , but friend you have to complete your Graduation first , and when you are in the final year of Graduation , i would advice you to apply for Prelim Exam
