Re: Which optional subject can I choose for UPSC mains exam being an Electrical Engineering graduate? Hi Friend! First, you need to know what is UPSC. UPSC is Union Public Service Commission which conducts many exams in which Civil Service Exam(CSE) is one of them. CSE has a misnomer as 'IAS exam' or 'UPSC exam'. You can choose anything from the list of 25 optional subjects. It completely depends on your interest. But I'd suggest someone to go with Public Administration because the subject is very less to study. You can have all the details abot the CSE at http://www.upsc.gov.in/ I Wish You All SUCCESS!!
