The qualification required for applying in IPS service is

GRADUATION FROM ANY STREAM.

Only a Graduation degree,any stream is applicable for IPS.
No percentage issues with IPS.
Only pass marks is required for applying.

Actually IPS is conducted under the name of CSAT.
Civil Service Aptitude Test.
Under which many other services participate such as
Indian Forest Service.
Indian Administrative Service.
Indian Revenue Service.
Indian Police Service etc.

But degree is only required for IPS,that is a scheme of education that is 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+3+3.

to become an IPS officer you have to apply for Civil Services exam. The exam is conducted by UPSC.

Civil Services exam is conducted in three phases and you have to clear all the phases to become an IAS officer.
The three phases are CSAT(Prelims), Mains and Interview



to apply for the Civil Services exam you have to satisfy some conditions like you have completed Graduation degree or final year candidates can also apply for the exam.and your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. There is also available relaxation in upper age limit according to government norms.

Age limit is 21-27.

For this exam you get only 4 oppertunities to appear in this exam.

IPS (Indian police service) is one of the most prestigious service in India.The IPS exam is part of the civil service exam conducted by UPSC .To become an IPS officer one can qualifying the Entrance exam.Depending on your preferences & the rank you secure you will be allotted the IPS.

Required Qualification:

1.Educational Qualification:- Hold a bachelor degree in any stream from a recognized University.
2.Required age:- Not less than 21 year & not more than 30 year on 1st August of the year of examination.
(The upper age limit is also relaxed for certain reserved categories & others)
3.For applying IPS exam the candidate must be a citizen of India.

Physical Requirement:

Height:- Minimum height for men and women is fixed at 165 cm and 150 cm.
There is some relaxation of 5 cm for both men and women in case of them belonging to ST category.

Chest :- Men - 84 cm, Women - 79 cm. (expansion 5 cm for both)

Eye sight:- 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye . 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.

IPS stands for Indian Police Officer.

Yes there are few requirements which you need to fulfill to become an IPS OFFicer.

Firstly you need to appear for an exam known as CIVIL services exam.

Civil services exam is conducted by UPSC once in a year.

It is a 3 stage exam in which you have 2 stages of written exam followed by Interview.

Stages of exam:

1. prelims (objective exam)
2. mains (subjective exam)
3. Interview

The minimum eligibility criteria required for giving exam is:-

>> you must have done your graduation from a recognised university.

>> stream is not any criteria here.

>> 1st or 2nd division marks in graduation is sufficient to appear for the exam.

>> Your nationality must be INDIAn.

Your age limit must be between 21 to 30 yrs if you belong to General category.

There is upper age limit relaxation for reserved categories:-

OBC- 3 yrs of age relaxation.

SC/ST- 5 yrs

PH- 10 yrs
