Minimum required qualifications to become an IPS officer:-
1.A Graduate or a final year candidate from the recognized University in any stream can write IAS exam.
2.The Age of the IAS candidate: General :21-30 years,OBC:21-33 years.S/C S/T: 21-35 years.PWD:21-40 years.
3.Nationality: Indian.
4.Attempts: General: 4 attempts. OBC: 7 attempts. S/C S/T: No limit.
THE UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC) CONDUCTS IPS EXAM EVERY YEAR FOR THOSE ASPIRANTS WHO WANTS TO WANTS TO JOIN THE DEFENCE ACADEMY AND WANTS TO BECOME THE IAS OFFICER.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA TO BECOME AN IPS OFFICER ARE:-
>>TO BECOME AN IPS OFFICER THE ASPIRANTS SHOULD HAVE COMPLETED THE GRADUATION DEGREE FROM ANY RECOGNIZED INSTITUE.
>> THE AGE OF THE ASPIRANTS SHOULD BE BETWEEN 21 TO 30 YEARS.
>>THERE IS NO PERCENTAGE LIMIT CRITERIA
>>THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY CRIMINAL RECORD ABOUT THE CANDIDATE.
>>THE ASPIRANTS SHOULD BE PHYSICALLY AS WELL AS MENTALLY FIT..

>>THERE IS O LIMIT OF NO. OF ATTEMPT FOR THE SC/ST CANDIDATE.
>>THERE ARE 7 ATTEMPTS ALLOWED FOR THE OBC CATEGORY CANDIDATE

Minimum qualification required for this examination is to be graduate in any stream from a recognized university or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized university/institute
Age limits are also mandatory that are 21 years of age is minimum and 30 years of age is maximum requirement for this examination but these age limits are increases in case of reserved category candidates that are -
21-35 years for SC and ST candidates
21-33 years for OBC category candidates
21-35 years for Ex-Servicemen
21-40 years for Personal with disability candidates
This year's Indian Civil Service/IPS preliminary Examination has been conducted at 26th of may 2013 and main examination for this recruitment will be conducted at 1st of December 2013 so you should think about to prepare for next year's recruitment of IPS Officer through Indian Civil Service Examination and must try to score good rank in that examination and mainly in main exam of ICS so you could get this rank as IPS Officer and then you will have to pass some other processes as Physical and Medical standard test so you should have completed everything before entering in this recruitment first of all study because passing in all stages exams is mandatory for all candidates so you also have to pass exams then only you will be able to face personality and other tests
