dear aspirant,
to apply for the upsc examination you need to have graduation or engineering degree
in any subjects from recognized university no matter the mode of the graduation.
the mode of graduation can be private,open,distance .
so you are fully eligible to appear in the upsc examinations .

you just need passing marks to become eligible to apply for the upsc examination
as there is no percentage bar to apply for the upsc examination.

to apply for the upsc examination you have to clear the age criteria
for the different examination conducted by upsc.
the OBC and the SC/ST category aspirants are given an age relaxation for the upsc examination.

the notification for the different upsc examination are released by upsc .
these notifications for the upsc examinations are available
for the aspirants on the official upsc site www.upsc.gov.in
from where the you can get the latest information about the examination carried out by upsc throughout the year.

on graduation basis you can apply for the upsc examination such as
Indian Forest Services Examination (IFS)
Central Police Forces Examination (CPF)
Civil Services Examination
Combined Defense Services Examination (CDS)

the form for these examination become available for the aspirants during the notification period
of a particular examination conducted by upsc.
you can fill the form for the upsc examination by the postal application or
by filling the form online on the upsc website www.upsconline.nic.in

Of-course Dear, you are eligible for UPSC Exam. after completion of your Graduation from Open University of Mumbai if it is Recognized by the Govt. because it is already mention in the Advertisements of all Exams. conducted by the UPSC that the Degree must be from an University which is Recognized by the Govt.

Secondly, age limit for General Caste Candidates must be in between 21-30 yrs. but for CDS and CAPF(AC) it is 21-25 yrs. So,...Good Luck....

dear aspirant,

upsc requires graduated candidates or those candidates who completed engineering from a UGC approved university.

so if the university from which you completed your graduation is approved by UGC then you are eligible for the upsc exam and you can apply for the upsc exam.

also your age should lie between 21 to 30 years.good luck

Hi Aspirant

Yes you are eligible for the upsc exam

As you have passed in graduation from open university

And it does not matter from which university you have passed graduation

It matters that your university should be a recognized Indian university

Full Criteria for the Exam:

-The candidate should be pass in graduation from a recognized indian university

-The final year candidate also eligible for the exam

-The age should be between 21-30

-The relaxation given to the obc of 3 years

-For the ph candidates it is 10 years

-For the sc,st candidates it is 5 years

For General 04
For obc 07
For sc,st Unlimited

Hi Aspirant,

Without any doubt you can appear in UPSC exam after completion of degree from Open University.

UPSC doesn�t differentiate between regular and distance degree.

You distance college should be recognized by IGNOU and DEC.


Required Qualification for UPSC exam

Graduation degree from any institute ( whether regular or distance)

Your age should be 21 to 30 years.

Age relaxation as per government norms

SC/ST + 5 years

OBC + 3 years

PH + 10 years

You must be Indian.


Preliminary exam date: 20/5/2012

Mains exam date: 5/10/2012

you are absolutely eligible to appear in UPSC exam after completing
your degree from university of Mumbai....
...because to attemp or to appear UPSC exam you must need to complete your 3 years degree in any university with any aggregate...
....those who are studying 4rth year they also eligible to appear UPSC
..because under the central government each 3years degree stated as complete graduation
...students do not bother about that
..coming to syllabus,for all the students it will be same
the specialization can take any chance in that exam

SHEETHAL as UPSC only seeks approved degree course if yours open university have the approval of its course from UGC, then there is no probelm you are eligible, so first confer the same from your university authorities

WHILE

UPSC has given you felixibility to give exam irrespective of graduation stream/percentage/mode of graduation

after you graduation:-

you can appear for the examinations

1.civil services examination (for IAS,IPS)

whose eligibility criteria are :
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA ::
You must be a citizen ofIndia,

or, You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,
or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India before 1962.


You must be of 21 to 30 years of age. HOWEVER,there is a relaxation in the upper age limit,
of 3 years for the OBCs
and
5 years for the SC/STs.


You must have completed your Graduation orEquivalent,from a recognized university under any
stream,or be a final year student in the same

The number of attempts is 4 for a General category student,
7 for an OBC candidate,and
unlimited for a SC/ST candidate,until he fulfills the age criteria
