the eligibility criteria for appearing in the upsc civil services exam is as follows-
you should be a graduate in any stream from a recognized indian university and your age should be in between 21-30 years .
a relaxation of 3 and 5 years is given to the obc and the sc/st category respectively in the age criteria
moreover, you need to be a citizen of india.
And there is no requirement of any kind of specific percentage in the graduation for giving the upsc civil services exam.

Hi,

IAS Exam is the administrative civil service exam of the Government of India. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the exam every year. Civil Services Examination is also known as IAS examination.
The preliminary examination which is held to select candidates for the next round mains will be replaced by Civil Services Aptitude Test. The new test CSAT will no longer focus on testing the subject knowledge and awareness. The new format emphasizes more on judging the mental ability of the candidate instead of subject knowledge. There will be two common papers of 200 marks each in CSAT. Each paper will be of two hours duration. The papers will be objective type and will focus on aptitude skills and ethical and moral dimensions of decision making. All students will have the same questions irrespective of their educational background. Every year more than two lakh students appear for IAS exam.


Who Can Apply For IAS 2013 :-

1. Age Limit:-

21-30 years as on 1/8/2013

2. Educational Qualifications:-

Bachelor�s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

3. No. of permissible attempts :- Four (Seven attemps of OBCs) and no limit for SCs/STs.

Basically for writing the civil services exams, required educational qualifications are you must completed the graduation from recognized university and required age limit should be between 21-30 years and here age relaxation is also available for reserved category candidates as per govt rules.

For requiting the civil services exams the selection procedure is based on the following examinations conducted by the union public service commission under the civil services examination they include;.

~ Preliminary examination,
~ Main examination,
~ Interview.

Apart from first conducted the preliminary and after qualifying the preliminary called for main exam and then interview and now coming to preliminary exam containing the 2 papers and first one is general studies subject and other one is optional subjects.

And main exam containing the 9 papers and first 2 papers +containing the languages and 4 papers are general studies papers and remaining papers are optional subjects and then called for interview.

Hey there...

Below is the general sketch of the eligibility criteria for the UPSC exam::

The candidate must be a graduate from any recognized university. Even final year pursuing graduates can apply.

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, in the year of examination.

The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable in the follwing cases:

Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe: upto a maximum of five years.
Other Backward Classes: upto a maximum of three years.
State of Jammu & Kashmir : upto a maximum of five years.
Defence Services personnel : upto a maximum of five years

No of attempts allowed:
1. General - 4 years
2. OBC - 7 years
3. SC/ST - no limit

the eligibility criteria for upsc civil services exam is
# graduation in any field for a recognized university
# age :
21-30 year(general)
21-33 years for obc and
21-35 years for sc/st aspirants

final year appearing candidates can also apply for upsc civil services exam according to the new eligibility criteria
government employees can also try for this exam they will get an age relaxation of 5 years more .

UPSC: Stands for the Union Public Service Commission

And conducting the most reputed exam The Civil Services Exam

Every year for the most reputed posts like Ias and Ips

The notification of the exam normally comes in the month of the February

And the exam last date to apply is normally in the march

The exam is one of the most difficult and their is lakhs of students

UPSC conduct the the CS(Civil Services) exam for recruiting candidates in the field of IAS/IPS officer etc.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. You need to complete or appearing in final year of graduation in any field from recognized college or university.
2. Your age must be within 21 years to 30 years. There is relaxation in upper age limit for reserved category candidates: 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST.

There are two phases in CSE.

They are

1)Civil Service Aptitude Test(CSAT) or Preliminary Exam

2) Civil Service Main Exam

Note: You must know that those who've qualified CSAT are only eligible for the Civil Service Main Exam.

Qualification for OBC category:

Educational: Graduate

Age: 21-33yrs

Note: there is a considerable age relaxation for special category like Blind, Deaf-Mute, etc.

Number of attempts: 7

dear in order to become eligible for the upsc exam the candidate must have completed graduation or should be a appearing candidate of the final year of the graduation or the engineering...age of the candidate must be between 21 to 30 years...for the candidate belonging to the OBC category and SC/ST category's will get age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years respectively...good luck

-The CIVIL SERVICE exams are conducted annually by the UPSC,for the recruitment of the deserving candidates into the Top,prestigious posts of IAS,IPS,Revenue Officers,Indian Foreign Service,Railway,Postal Services,etc.
-The Civil Service Exams are carried out in three phases,namely :
# The Preliminary Exams.
# The Mains Exams.
# The Interviews.
You will have to clear the preceding phase to proceed to the next.
-While the Preliminary exams are carried out in May followed by the Mains,to be conducted in October-November.
-The COMPLETE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF THE CIVIL SERVICE EXAMS ARE MENTIONED BELOW-

{01} NATIONALITY.
You must be a citizen of India,
or,You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,
or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India,before 1962.

{02} AGE LIMITS.

Required qualification for civil services exam are:
-You should have passed Graduation degree in any specialization from recognized Institute.
-You are for civil service exam while in graduation final year.
-UPSC Civil service exam has no restriction on graduation percentage.
-Your Age should be within the limit of 21 to 23 years.
-You must be a citizen of India.

The eligibility criteria for upsc civil services exams are :

A) You have to be a graduate from a recognized university
B) You must be aged between 21-30yrs if you are from General category,21-33yrs if you are an OBC and 21-35yrs if you are SC/STs.

Remember the no.attempts are also limited for General and OBC category candidates.For General,the no of attempts is 4 and that for OBC is 7 whereas for SC/STs there's no such limit.
