IES Stand for Indian Engineering Service Examination , this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year . To apply for this examination , you should have a completed engineering degree from a recognized University . Final year candidate may also eligible . There is no minimum marks required .

Nationality :-

Candidate must be either :-


~~a Citizen of India OR
~~a Subject of Bhutan OR
~~a Subject of Nepal OR
~~a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India , before 1962.

Age limits :-

~~Age should be between 21 years and 30 years and relaxation is exits as per government rules .
~~3 years for OBC candidates , 5 years for SC/ST .

Education Qualification :-

~~Minimum qualification is completed engineering OR final year of engineering .
~~IES Exam is conducted for Civil , Mech , Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering , Electrical .
~~If you are not completed these branches then you can opt from within these subjects .

dear friend ,sorry to say that chemical Engineers can not apply for UPSC exam.

students of following category can only apply for UPSC exams

• Civil Engineering,
• Mechanical Engineering,
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

any engineering graduate can give the examination who have passed/appearing in final year from recognised university having fulfillment of the all requisite

but you are bound to choose among the

following four descpline of engineering as your written professional subjects irrespective of your branch

@electrical engg.
@mechanical engg.
@civil engg.
@electronics & telecommunication engg.

-> age within 21-30 years for general category,
21-33 years for OBC category,
21-35 years for SC/ST category.

-->> INDIAN nationality or subject of it is must.

Hey friend,

IES stands for Indian Engineering Service

This is one of the UPSC exams and this exam is conducted for candidates to join in Indian Engineering Organizations.

You cannot apply for the IES Exam as you are ineligible for the exam

The reason for it is that you are not satisfying the education qualification needed for the exam.

There are certain framed criteria's which has to be satisfied in order to apply for the IES Exam and as far regarding the education qualification needed for the exam you are dissatisfying it.

The education qualification needed for the IES states that the candidate who have completed degree in:

• Civil Engineering,
• Mechanical Engineering,
• Electrical Engineering and
• Electronics & Tele Communication Engineering

As you are a Chemical Student you are ineligible for applying.

Dear Applicant,
-Having completed your Chemical Engineering,You are definitely eligible for the INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE exams,conducted annually by the UPSC.
-The notifications of the release of forms for this exam is available in January,and the exam is conducted in June,as in 2012,it is scheduled to happen on 15th June,2012,nd will take place for a period of 3 Days.
-The ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for the IES exams are drawn below-
{01} NATIONALITY.
You must be a citizen of India,
or,You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,
or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India,before 1962.
{02} AGE LIMITS.
You must be 21 To 30 years of age.
However,the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 Years for SC/ST and by 3 Years for OBC and physically disabled.
{03} EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.
You must hold a degree in Engineering from a recognized university,or be a final year student in the same.
However,you will have to opt from within the 4 subjects,namely Civil Engineering,Mechanical Engineering,Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and Electrical Engineering.

APPLY FOR IES EXAM
Candidates can apply online by using website:
http://www.upsconline.nic.in.There is two parts for filling the form.
Part-I
Part-II
Part-I you can easily fill and for the rest part of the part-II you have to fill with the help of bank chalan number.
Size of digital photo:-20 to 40 kb
Size of the scanned signature:-10 to 20 kb.

ELIGIBILITY FOR IES EXAM

The minimum eligibility criteria required for IES exam is to be a engineer or you must have a degree of engineering.

*CIVIL ENGINEERING
*MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
*ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
*ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING
*or any equivalent degree

M.Sc degree or equivalent with wireless communication ,electronics,radio physics,etc..

Final year students can also apply in this examination.

Any person with an engineering degree can apply in IES(Indian Engineering Services) provided he /she satisfies the required age specifications.
so yes u can apply for IES

I.E.S Stands for Engineering Services examination.
This examination is conducted by U.P.S.C Every year.

ELIGIBILITY:-

->To apply for IES Examination you need to be a Engineering graduate.

-> If you have cracked this examination then you will join the Government Sector as a Engineer.

Candidates who have completed graduation from one of these streams can apply.
-> Civil Engineering.
-> Mecahnical Engineering.
-> Electrical Engineering.
-> Electronics & Telecommunication.

So, Only these 4 Stream candidates are eligible for UPSC IES Examination,

But In the official website it is mentioned that any Engineering candidates are eligible for IES Examination,
So please contact the UPSC Concerned department and confirm form there, they will tell you is you are eligible for IES Examination or not.

Eligible candidates may fill the application form Online or Offline,
You can also Obtained the application form directly form the designated Post offices, So please contact the Commission or check the UPSC Official website -

no, a chemical engineer can't apply for IES
only mech. ,civil,electronics and communication,electrical engineers and m.sc degree or its equivalent with wireless communication,electronics,radio physics or radio engineering as a special subject can apply for IES

any person graduate in chemestry can apply IES exam. Yes a chemical engineer apply if complited B.Tech from any recognised university.

IES exam only engneers having degrre in civi, mechnical, ece, elecrical engneeging or m.sc in specilization in radio physics can apply for certain posts
