You must be a citizen of India.

02. AGE LIMITS.

03. ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.
You must have completed your Graduation with any subject or stream,from a recognized university.
Final year students are also applicable.
Just the passing percentage is required.

04. SEX.
Only unmarried male candidates can apply for entry into IMA.

>> If you are keen upon joining defense,notably INDIAN ARMY,then you can also do so by appearing and qualifying the NDA exams,which are conducted at +2 level.

NATIONAL DEFENSE ACADEMY EXAMS [NDA]

>> The NDA exams are conducted twice in an year by the UPSC in the months of April and September.
>> The notifications regarding the release of application forms are made in January and May respectively.

>> Mentioned below is the COMPLETE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS to appear for the NATIONAL DEFENSE ACADEMY EXAMS ::

01. NATIONALITY.
You must be a citizen of India.

02. AGE LIMITS.
You must be 16.5 To 19 years of age.

03. ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.
You must have passed 10+2 board exams from a recognixed board or university.
Final year appearing students are also applicable.
However,being a commerce student you can apply for ARMY only and not for NAVY and AIR FORCE.

04. SEX.
Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply.

Upsc stands for the union public service commission

Which is conducting the exam For Ima twice a year

Ima Stands for the Indian Military Academy

And for the IMA You have to give the cds exam

Because after clearing the exam you can join the Ima

And for the cds Exam

Here is the qualifications Required:

Age limit: The age required for the cds exam is between

19-24

Education: The candidate should be pass in graduation

From a recognized indian university or also

A final year student can also eligible for the exam

Citizen: The candidate should be citizen of india

10+2 candidate can appear in NDA-I,II & TECHNICAL entry scheme (minimum in PCM=70 % or above)

to opt. the IMA in priority from among the avialable option's .

NDA conducted bi-annually whereas TES conducted once in a year.

THERE is no such benefits to you being a ward of serving/retired army personal of any category however you got 5 marks to your ssb toatl if your dad possesses any GALLANTRY AWARD.

hai friend ,

since u want only army IMA and you have passed 10+2 , you are eligible to apply for NDA with first choice as army and through TES ( technical entry scheme ) .

NDA = it is conducted twice a year and admission is through entrance exams only. merit listed candidates are eligible and will receive call letter for SSB's . passing in ssb takes u to the IMA

TES ARMY = it is also conducted twice a year but depend upon your 10th and 12th PCM cutoff marks , candidates of above 80% are only eligible . the eligible candidates will receive call letter for attending SSB . the advantage is there is no need of entrance exams for this type of entry

For joining IMA you can apply for Common Defense Service & NDA
Physical standard required are:

1. The candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease
2. The minimum acceptable height for male candidates is 157.5 cms. For Women candidates minimum acceptable height is 152 cms.
3. There should be no disease of bones and joints of the body.
4. The hearing should be normal
5. A male candidate should be able to read 6/6 in a distant vision chart with each eye with or without glasses. For women candidates the minimum acceptable visual acuity are Distant Vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse 6/18.
6. A candidate should be able to recognise red and green colours

Since your father is also in army you will get the benefit during short -listing of candidates after interview.

Sir my name is Nitin Mehra .I have passed my 12th in Non-Med stream now i want to join IMA .My father is also in army yet they want me to join IMA also it is my dream to join IMA .Please sir tell me how i can join IMA?
