Dear, if your university is approved by the ugc/aicet or center/state government then you are eligible for the exam. there is no problem for the upsc board where the candidate passed the graduation or medium. number of the candidate who are complete the graduation through private/distance education/correspondence from the approved university give the civil service exam. so don't worry you are eligible for the exam. the percentage of the marks is no matter for the exam. the age limit for the exam is 21 to 30 years for the unreserved category with 4 attempt of the exam. age relaxation for the reserve category.' the preliminary exam is held in the month of the May and the mains exam held in the month of the october. for more information please update with the www.upsc.gov.in best of luck for the exam.

Re: Will I be eligible to write UPSC Civils exam after completing a distance degree from a UGC recognized institution? yes dear you are absolutely elgible to apply for the upsc civil services examination. the main educational requirement to apply for this examination is graduation or engineering form a recognized university approved by UGC. upsc is not at all concerned with the mode of graduation.the mode of graduation can be DISTANCE ,regular,open,correspondence etc all are allowed by upsc. while applying for the upsc civil services examination the aspirant must have attained an age 21 year at least. the age limit to apply for the upsc civil services examination is 21-30 years . the OBC and the SC/ST category aspirants get an age relaxation to apply for this examination. the age relaxation is 3 years for the obc aspirants and 5 year for the SC/ST aspirants . for the physically handicap aspirants the age relaxation is 10 year for this examination. there is percentage bar to apply for this examination so don't even worry for your marks in the graduation. the civil services examination is conducted in two stages of examination preliminary examination mains examination clearing the mains examination the candidate has to go through an interview. notification for the upsc civil services examination is released in the month of feb/march. The PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION is held in the month of MAY . The MAINS EXAMINATION is held in the month of OCT according to the subjects selected by the candidates. this years MAINS EXAMINATION will be conducted 5th OCT 2012 onward according to the subjects of the candidates. you can apply for this examination through online application or by postal application both mode are permitted. the froms will be available for the candidates at the head post offices as well as at the official upsc website www.upsconline.nic.in during the notification period.

Yes you are eligible to appear in the UPSC Civil Services exams holding a degree through distance learning from a UGC recognised University. Eligibility for CS exams : Age Limit: General Category-21-30yrs on 1st August of the year of exams OBC-21-33yrs SC/ST-21-35yrs Educational Qualification : A graduation Degree/equivalent in any discipline from a recognised University. Final Year appeared/appearing candidates can apply provisionally. Candidates completing their graduation through Open School/Distance learning from a recognised University are also eligible. Dear Guest, First of all let me know you the educational qualification required for civil services examination. The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. So, if your university is recognized by UGC(University Grants Commission) & approved by DEC(Distance Education Council) then you have no problem in appearing CSAT. THANKS.
