The Civil Services Exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission in three phases :

a) Preliminary Exam

b) MAINS Exam

c) Interview

The 2012 Preliminary Exam has already been conducted and the MAINS Exam will commence from 5th of October , 2012 and will continue for 21 days.

The Civil Services Mains Exams-2012 will commence from 5th Oct 2012.

the exam date for UPSC civil Services mains exam in 2012 is 05-10-2012 Friday.

In Civil Services Mains Exam only those candidates are allowed to appear in the exam who clear the Civil Services Prelims exam now called CSAT exam.

one advice for you that this time is very important do not try to cover new topics. you should only concentrate on those topics which you have studied.
