Civil services examination is generally conducted in three stages:"

First is the preliminary test now called the Civil services aptitude test.After clearing this examination you get chance to give the main examination and if you clear the main examination you become eligible for the personal interview which is the last stage of the civil services examinations.

the exam date for UPSC civil Services mains exam in 2012 is 05-10-2012 Friday.

In Civil Services Mains Exam only those candidates are allowed to appear in the exam who clear the Civil Services Prelims exam now called CSAT exam.

one advice for you that this time is very important do not try to cover new topics. you should only concentrate on those topics which you have studied.
