The usual date of IAS notification:-

1.Date of notification...2nd Feb,2013.

2.Last date of Application submission: 4th March,2013.

3.Date of Exam: May 19,2013.

Eligibility:Minimum any graduate or a finl year candidate from a recognized university in any discipline can write IAS exam.

Age: Gen: 21-30 Years relaxation for OBC 3 years,S/C S/t 5 years pwd.10 years.

Nationality: Indian.

Attempts: Gen. can avail 4 attempts. OBC: can attempt 7 times.S/c s/t& PWD: No limit.

The notifications are issued in the first week of february.

The last date of submitting the applications is in the first week of march.

The date of preliminary exam is 19/5/2013.

The date of main exam is 8/11/2013.

Dear it's good to see that you are from engineering stream and wants become an IAS officer in India and if you will continue at your way then you may easily become an IAS officer but it is not so easy but there is nothing tough for hardworking candidates and the dates are following for UPSC IAS Exam 2013

Start date for online application : 02-02-2013

Last date for online application : 04-03-2013

Date for commencement of exam : 19-05-2013

UPSC board has announced the dates for upcoming civil services exams and the official notification for this exam would be published at www.upsc.gov.in around 1st february 2013 so that you should keep visiting at this website and get more and more details.

If you have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and your age is between 21-30 years then you may apply for IAS exam and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible for this exam and relaxation in age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category

ELIGIBILITY FOR IAS:-

Candidates who have completed their graduation from any stream are eligible for the exam.
Candidates who have completed any professional or technical studies can also apply.
There is no minimum requirement of marks for writing this test. Candidates having a pass mark can apply.
Those who are appearing or the final year of the qualifying examination can also attend the test.
Only those candidates who are citizens of India can appear for IAS and IPS.
The age limit is between 21 years to 30 years.
For OBC- 21-33 years
For SC/ST- 21-35 years

Number attempts :

4 attempts for General candidates.
7 attempts for OBC candidates.
There is no limits for SC/ST candidates.

To become a IAS Officer you have to appear and clear the UPSC Civil Services Exam(CSE).
UPSC CSE are conducded every year to make recruitments to 24 service/posts.

CSE consists of 3 stages viz.
-Prelims/CSAT exam
-Mains Exam
-Interviews

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC.

For getting into UPSC you have to appear for Civil services examination.

Civil Services examination in 2 stages:
Written exam
Interview

Written Exam is further conducted in 2 stages :

CSAT( Civil Services Aptitude Test) Preliminary Exam
Mains exam

After you qualify in both the written exams you are called for Interview.

The correct date is not announced yet but approximately it will be announced in month of February.

The prelim exam would be held in May.

The mains exam would be held in November.

You have the one month to fill the application form after release the notification of the exam.


The preliminary exam is held in the month of the may.


The qualification is required for the exam is graduation in any stream from the approved university.


The percentage of the marks and higher qualification is no matter for the exam.


The age limit for the exam is the 21 to 30 years.


Age relaxation for OBC category is the 3 years and sc/st category is 5 years.


The attempt of the exam for the unreserved category is the 4 time, for obc 3 time, for sc/st no limit
