Dear Aspirant,

I am sorry to say that you are not allowed to appear in IAS exam because the minimum qualification required by UPSC to appear in exam is candidate must be graduate from any recognized university. Candidate must satisfy the age limit criteria of IAS i.e

Age limit:

>> 21-30 for general
>> 21-33 for obc
>> 21-35 for SC/ST

It seems that you are in a big hurry because while asking the question you have forgotten that the eligibility criteria for the civil services examination , as per the rule a candidate who is not a graduate cannot apply for the civil services examination so you should not worry to apply for this examination because you are not eligible.
One more thing whether you do the class 12th from science stream or with the commerce or arts after completion of the graduation in any discipline you will be eligible to apply for the civil services examination so you need to concentrate on your studies before you ask these questions.
Well for your future purpose i am giving the eligibility criteria for the same as follows-

Eligibility criteria for the Civil services examination-
Age should be 21 to 30 years of age.
Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university can apply for the same.
Age relaxation for the civil services examination is as follows-
SC/ST 5 years.
OBC 3 years.
Ex servicemen 5 years.
Disabled defence officer in army during war for commissioned officer 3 years of age relaxation.
Examination pattern-
CSAT stands foir the civil services aptitude test which is the first stage of the examination. It consist of 2 papers and both general studies of 400 marks total.
MAINS examination is if you qualify the examination CSAT then called for the Mains examination.
There will be 9 papers of 2000 marks .
By qualifying the same candidates are called for the interview.
Interview consist of 300 marks.

Hai,A final year graduation persuing or graduation completed candidates only eligible for IAS examination. Now you are 12th standard so you are not eligible for IAS exam. Sorry , to say that after 12th you are not eligible for IAS exam.

For that exam you should be graduate from any recognized university and also can apply in last year of graduation.

It does not matter that in which field you are passing your graduation, only you should be graduate.

So, firstly you go for graduation course and you will be eligible in last year of graduation.

Your age must be under 21-30 years.

Hai,Oh shore definately it is possible to write IAS being a science student. IAS exam conducted by the UPSC once in ever year.Eligibility details:-You should be complete graduation and you must have a citizen of INDIA.No need of percentage restrictions.Age criteria:-The age limits are 21 to 30 years.The relaxation is given as per the govt rules.

Hope that you are in good health and good state of mind.

Yes you are allowed to take the exam while you are doing 12th class.

But make sure that you also fulfill the age criteria.

-->A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st
August, in the year of examination.

-->The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable in the following cases:

->Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe: upto a maximum of five years.
->Other Backward Classes: upto a maximum of three years.
->State of Jammu & Kashmir (Domiciled during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to 31st December,
1989): upto a maximum of five years.
->Defence Services personnel : upto a maximum of five years.


If you satisfy the above criteria,than you'll can sit for the exam!

It does not matter that what subject you take in class 12th, because IAS exam is not restricted to subjects.

If you complete your Graduation then you can give IAS exam either you are from any stream.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

You have to give CSAT exam for this.

You have 2 papers in CSAT.

Then you have to give mains exam.

Then finally you appear for Interview.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:-

Completion of Graduation or you are in appearing year form a recognized University.

You can be of any stream. There are no restrictions for stream.

You must have secured 1st or 2nd division marks.

AGE LIMIT:-

21 to 30 yrs for General

21 to 35 yrs for SC/ST

21 to 33 yrs for OBC.

21 to 40 yrs for PH.

• No it's not possible to write an Civil services examination (to become IAS) for an Science student in just class 12th.
• You need to complete the graduation first and then you are eligible to appear in this exam.
• At the stage of graduation, for appearing in civil services examination, your age must be between 21 years to 30 years.
• Age relaxations is provided as per the notification of government in this regard.
• only citizen of India can appear in this exam.
• At this stage you can appear in NDA exam and/or SCRA exam.

Indian Administrative Service and other civil services minimum academic qualification required is Must appear Graduation from Indian Recognized university.
Unless Graduation not eligible to apply for civil services.
Minimum age required is 21 years.
If you are in 12 th standard you have much time to prepare for IAS,better to complete graduation...

yes you are eligible to write for civil services examination being a science student.but not in 12 class. Because the minimum educational qualification required for civil services examination is graduation.

So you are not eligible for the same right now.

Recruitments are made to 24 services/posts like IAS,IPS,IFS,etc.

UPSC CSE consists of 3 stages -:
-Prelims/CSAT Exam
-Mains Exam
-Interviews

Eligibility For CSE :

Age Limit :
General Category-21-30yrs on 1st August of the year of exam
OBC-21-33yrs
SC/ST-21-35yrs

Educational Qualification :
Graduation in any discipline from UGC recognised University or equivalent.
Final year appeared/appearing candidates can apply on provision.

So if you are a graduate you can apply even if you have done your 12th Boards from Science stream.

General Category-4 times
OBC-7 times
SC/ST-Unlimited times

So, you can apply after meeting all above eligibility criterias.

you are not eligible for IAS exam right now when you complete your graduation then you are eligible for this exam. because graduation is the minimum eligibility for UPSC civil services exam.
