Hi Aspirant

First if you want to join the Income tax

Then you have to write the ssc common graduate level exam

And the eligibility criteria for the exam:

Education : The aspirant must be pass in graduation from a recognized

Indian university and must be a citizen of India

And their is age limit also 18-27

For the oh it is 18-37

And for the obc candidates it is 18-30

And for the sc.st it is 18-32

If you are filling the above criteria then you can apply for the exam

To be income tax officer you should have any degree of a recognized University, or equivalent.
Your age should not be not less than 18 yers and not greater than 27 years on the first July of the year of examination
The age limit for the posts of Inspector of Income Tax, is 18-27 years as on March 2011

Physical Standards (Minimum)

a)Height :157.5cm
b)Chest :81cm ,fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cm
c)Physical Test:
i)Walking:1600 meters in 15 minutes
ii)Cycling:8 Km in 30 minutes


Selection Process:
we have two modes of entries in Income Tax Department.

We can go through Civil Service exams.As I discussed above Income Tax Department is also a part of civil service, so the whole process is as same as for others its your ranking and scores in entrance which will decide you to get there.

By going through Civil Service candidate can expect 'High Ranking Post' like- Assistant Commissioner etc.

your question is how to become a income tax officer its good question

income tax officer belongs to groups

if you have done with great cutoff in ias ,ips and some competitive exams

then you could automatically allotted to income tax officer

and you also go for road transport officer

and you also go for central beuro of investigation(cbi)

if you qualify in those exams you will be allotted in higher standard jobs like
above

the eligibility to attempt groups is complete degree (graduation)

your age must be between 21 to 30 years

age relaxation also provided for backward candidates

selection should be completely based on written test and interview

The basic eligibility criteria to become an income tax officer is a degree from a recognised university with a minimum age of 18 and not more than 27 at the time of applying, there is age relaxation for reserved candidates.

The Staff Service Commission (SSC) conducts an entrance exam annually for the recruitment of candidates in the income tax department. A series of written, oral and physical tests will be carried out for the selection of the candidates. Those candidates who clear these tests will be called for an interview later.

Candidates who are appearing for the interview and examination must be prepared in topics like General English, basic arithmetic, general knowledge etc. In addition to this, questions will be also asked on topics like General policy, Geography and History. Subjects like Economics and Scientific Research will also be included.

The minimum eligibility required to join Income Tax Department is a bachelors degree in any discipline. Age limit is between 18 years to 27 years depending upon the post you are applying for. In order to get jobs with Income Tax Department you have to appear for the exams conducted by Staff Selection Commission for the Graduate Level Examination for recruitment for various posts, like Inspectors of Income Tax.

Hi,first of all the candidates who aspire to be I-Tax officers need to have complete their graduation. The minimum age required is 18 years and the maximum age is 27 years. On completion of graduation the candidates will need to appear for the Short Service Commission exam. These exams are normally held every year in the month of April. The questions asked will bemultiple choice objective type in nature. The candidate needs to be well prepared in areas like English, Numerical Ability and also General Knowledge. It is a must that the candidate be well versed in the current affairs area.On clearing this written exam they need to go through a personal interview. It is must thatthe candidates try to solve as many previous years papers. They need to be strong in the concept level to clear the exam.

you have to give a combined graduate level exam conducted by ssc.
you can apply for this up to 17 april.

You should be between 18 � 27 years to apply for this post. There is age relaxation in case of the candidates belonging to reserved categories.
