IAS stans for Indian Administrative Services comes under civil services.
Civil services exam conducts by Union public Service Commission once in every year.

For Civil services exam no percentage is required only you must be passed your graduation from any recognized university. If you got only passing marks in your graduation then you are eligible for civil services examination.

Friend, as you have expressed your wish to become the IAS Officer. So to be eligible for IAS Examination, you are required to have any bachelor degree in any discipline.For IAS Examination, you desparetaly need any graduation degree from the recognised university IRRESPECTIVE OF PERCENTAGE MARKS TAKEN.Only the thing is required that you must possess any graduation degree WITH ONLY PASSING MARKS.Apart from possessing the graduation degree, you are also required to fulfills the other eligibility conditions mentioned below:-- Nationals of India-- Any degree holder-- Age between 20-30 years for Unreserved category-- Age between 20-33 years for OBC category-- Age between 20-35 years for SC/ST categoryMust be physically, biologically & medically fit.Must be in good state of mind and must not be insane or mad.

There is no limit of percentage in the IAS exam.

For IAS exam you must have a bachelor degree from any stream and from a recognized university of India.

Your age for the exam must lies in between 21-30 years.

Age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years is given to the OBC and SC/ST candidates.

You must be Indian.

There is no percentage required for IAS Exam.

A candidate who have pass their Graduation Degree can apply for this exam.

Age should be between 21-30 years for General category
21-33 years for OBC Category
21-35 years for SC/ST Category

Educational Qualifications or eligibilities to appear for UPSC - Indian Administrative Service Exams 2013 :

As per Government rules the candidate must posses a bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized university or the degree or any other equivalent qualification must be from a recognized university or board or Institute and candidate should have secured at least 50% marks in his/her graduation but if you belong to SC/ST category then you will get the relaxation of 5% marks in your graduation percentage means you need to have only 45% marks in degree to apply for UPSC IAS exam 2013.

Age Limitations for UPSC - IAS exam 2013 :

As per Government standards/guidelines the candidate must have completed at least 21 years of age but the age of the applicant should not be more than 30 years and reserved category candidates will get relaxation in upper age which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidate.

If you have above mentioned qualification and eligibility then you can apply for this exam.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

even passing marks candidates are also eligible for the exam
so you don't worry about the marks of the graduation,you have the degree certificate

Recruitments are made to 24 services/posts through CSE.

Eligibility For CSE :

Age Limit :
General Category-21-30yrs on 1st august of the year of exam
OBC-21-33yrs
SC/ST-21-35yrs

Educational Qualification :
Graduation in any discipline from UGC recognised University.
There is no fixed percentage to be eligible to apply to CSE.
You require a Pass Class in graduation from a UGC recognised University to apply to CSE.

There is no such limit on the percentage you get in the graduation!
You just need to fufill the age criteria and also see that the University from where you did your graduation is approved by UGC!

Only passing % of marks is required in graduation to be eligible for the Civil services examinations .IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services.It is not a exam bu the one of the most prestigious post in Indian government.

So donot worry ,if you have done your graduation with passing % of marks that is with no backlogs then 100% you are eligible for the Civil services examinations that conducts examination for your desired post.

Better is the % of marks in bachelor's degree ,you will have better impression during personal interview,if you clear the first two stages.

the age limitations is :

General: 21-30 years

OBC:21-33 years

SC/ST:21-35 years.

No of attempts:

General : 4

OBC:7

SC/ST : no limit.

There is no limit or boundation on the minimum percentage required in the graduation for appearing in the civil services examination conducted by UPSC in order to become IAS officer. It means that only Passing marks in graduation would be well enough to appear in this exam. Even you can be graduate in an any stream to appear in this exam. Even final year student can also appear but as an provisional basis, after that you need to provide passing graduation marksheet to UPSC.
