Graduates in any discipline from a recognised university . For Air Force and Navy Graduation should be in Engineering or Physics or Maths.

Age required for CDS examination is as follows:

Air Force Academy- 19 to 23 years.

Naval Academy- 19 to 22 years.

Indian Military Academy- 19 to 24 years.

Officers Training Academy- 19 to 25 years.

If you have above then you can apply for CDS examination.

There will be Objective Type Paper, SSB and Medical Examination that you have to pass in order to get entry into the Defence.

So start preparing for CDS examination if you really want to become an Defence officer.

Hai,CDS stands for Combined Defence Service.CDS exam conducted by the UPSC twice in a year.Eligibility criteria:-The applicant should have to complete graduation in any stream from a recognised university.You must be a citizen of India.Percentage is not required for this exam.Male and Female both are eligible.You must be physically fit.The age limits for naval academy are 19 to 22 years,The age limits for airforce academy are 19 to 23 years,The age limits for Military academy are 19 to 24 years,The age limits for Officers training academy are 19 to 25 years.No relaxation in age.Selection process:-Written exam,Personal interview,Medical test.Best of luck..

If you are interested to apply for the CDS examination then you need to fulfill the eligibility criteria for the CDS examination as follows-
CDS means the combined defence services examination which is conducted twicein ayear to select the person in any of the three wings of the defence services exam.
Here is the eligibility criteria for the same as follows-
Candidate should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university if he or she wants to apply for the indian army.
If want to apply for the air force and navy then a candidate should have graduation with physics and maths for the same.
Age should be 19-22 for the navy.
19-23 for the air force.
19-24 for the ima.
19-25 for the OTA.
Selection procedure for the same-
Written examination.
SSB interview.
Medical examination.

Eligibility for UPSC CDS - Combined Defense Service Examination

Indian Military Academy - You should have passed bachelor's degree in any stream to apply for this examination but your age should be minimum 19 years and maximum limit of age is 24 year

Indian Naval Academy - A degree in Engineering in any branch from a reputed institute or university and age should be between 19-22 years

Indian Air Force Academy - You should have passed bachelor's degree with mathematics and physics as compulsory subjects at graduation level or should posses a degree in engineering and age should not be less than 19 years and more than 23 years

Officers Training Academy - Graduation is necessary to apply for this examination too but your age should be between 19-25 years to apply for this examination

All those candidates who are pursuing final year of their graduation or appearing for final year examination or awaited for final year/semester result may also apply and appear for examination

There is no relaxation in upper age will be provided to you and other reserved category candidates

You are in school and want to apply for CDS AFA examination so I would say that either you complete B.Sc in Mathematics with Physics as compulsory subject or complete engineering degree then appear for examination

Examination Pattern of CDS Exam

General Knowledge - 100 marks
English Language - 100 marks
Elementary Mathematics - 100 marks

These papers will be conducted for those candidates who prefers - IMA or INA or AFA and if anyone prefers OTA then he/she need to appear only for first two papers of mentioned above

CDSE stands for Combined Defence Services Exam. The exam is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Services Commission). The exam is held twice in a year named as CDS-I and CDS-II for the posts in INA, IAFA, IMA and OTA.

for INA and IAFA you need B.Sc with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Engineering degree to apply for the exam. for OTA and IMA you need graduation degree in any discipline. you can also apply for the exam while studying in final year of graduation.

for INA: 19 years to 22 years for IAFA: 19 years to 23 years
for IMA: 19 years to 24 years

the eligibility criteria for appearing in CDS (Combined Defence Services) are:-

1.You must be a citizen of India.

2.Your age limits for different forces must be as mentioned below:-
For IMA(Indian Military Academy) 19-24 years
For AFA(Air Force Academy) 19-23 years
For INA(Indian Naval Academy) 19-22 years
For OTA(Officers Training Academy) 19-25 years

3.The educational criteria for various forces are:-
IMA graduation in any stream from any government recognized university
AFA graduation in any stream from any government recognized university(with Physics and maths as compulsory subjects in 10+2) or graduation in engineering from any government recognized university
INA graduation in any stream from any government recognized university(with Physics and maths as compulsory subjects in 10+2) or graduation in engineering from any government recognized university

4.You should be physically and psychologically fit as per the norms of CDS as advertised by UPSC.

B.Sc will make you fully eligible to apply for upsc Combined Defense Services Examination (CDS).
eligibility criteria for this exam is

1.graduation or engineering from a recognized university.
It is import ant to note that
# for IMA(Indian Military Academy) And OTA(Officer's Training Academy) student should have passed Graduation from a recognized university .
# for Indian Air Force the candidate should be pass in Graduation With Physics or Maths.


Age for
IMA 19-24 years
OTA 19-25 years
IAF 19-22 years

OBC and SC/ST category gets an age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years respectively.

you can apply for this exam even in the final year of your B.Sc degree.

age of the candidates must be within 21 to 30 years ...
age relaxation of 3 years is given to those candidates who belong to OBC category
age relaxation of 5 years is given to those who belong to SC/ST catogory..

Required Qualification to appear for CDSE

1. For IMA : 19 to 24 Years
   For OTA : 19 to 25 years
   For Naval : 19 to 22 years

2. The selection process consists of a written exam and personality test by the Service Selection Board. After the final selection, you are sent to one of the following institutes for orientation training as per your Preference at the time of filling the application form.
3. The examination is Objective and there are 3 papers in Air Force Academy Examination:

Combined Defense Service Examination(C.D.S.E.) is conducted by U.P.S.C. twice in a year Known as C.D.S. (I) & C.D.S. (II).
This exam is conducted to recruit candidates of India in Indian military academy, Naval academy, Air force academy & Officers training academy.

ELIGIBILITY:-

For INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY:-

* Only unmarried male candidates can apply for this exam.
* Candidates must not born before 2ND January 1989 and not after 1ST January 1994.
* Candidates must have completed a Degree from a recognized university or equivalent course.

FOR NAVAL ACADEMY:-

* Only unmarried male candidates can eligible to apply for this exam.
* Candidates must not born before 2ND January 1989 and not after 1ST January 1994.
* Candidates must completed B.Sc. degree with Physics & Mathematics as main subjects from a a recognized university.
* Candidates who have done Engineering course are also eligible to apply.

For Air Force Academy:-

the CDSE exam is conducted by UPSE biannually.
through CDSE condidates are selected for NAVAL, IAF, ARMY
the condidates who qualify the written test are called for SSB in the selected department which you had given as your preference.
for this you may be graduate or appearing in final year.
there is also some age qualification those are:
NAVAL 19-22
IAF 19-23
OTA 19-25

For I.M.A. and Officers� Training Academy- Graduation Degree from a recognized University . 2. For Indian Naval Academy : Degree in Engineering for CDSE or B.Sc.
