Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Geologist's exam 2013

>> Candidate should have completed master's degree in - Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology

>> Degree should be completed from a recognized university or institute or board under the government

>> Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 32 years and relaxation in age as per government rules

>> 5 years upper age relaxation for SC/ST category candidates and 3 years upper age relaxation for OBC

If you have above mentioned qualification then you can apply for UPSC Geologist exam and UPSC board conduct this exam every year and the dates has been announced by UPSC board for upcoming Geologist exam 2013

Start date for online application - 24-08-2013

Last date for online application - 23-09-2013

Date for UPSC Geologist exam - 07-12-2012

Examination Pattern for UPSC Geologist's exam is following as -

1. General English Paper - 100 marks
2. Geography Paper I - 200 marks
3. Geography Paper II - 200 marks
4. Geography Paper III - 200 marks
5. Hydrogeology Paper - 200 marks

You will get complete 3 hours for each paper and total marks would be - 1000 for all 5 papers

Interview Process : UPSC board will call those candidates for interview who will qualify the written examination and interview process has separate 200 marks

Eligibility criteria to Apply for Geologist exam :-

1. Should be post graduate in geology or applied geology or marine geology from recognised university.
2. Age should be for General :- 21-30 yrs.
OBC :- 21-33 yrs.
SC/ST :- 21-35 yrs.
3. Should be citizen of India.

Dear,for general=21 to 30,obc=21 to 33 and both of them attempt this exam only 7 times.for sc/st=21 to 35 and they have to chance to attempt it unlimited times.

The eligibility criteria for the geologists exam conducted by UPSC is as follows:

Educational criteria: Master's Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized University or equivalent. (Candidates appearing in Master's Degree or equivalent examination are also eligible to compete)
Age limit: 21 -32 years.

the age limit is for general category is 21 to 30 years. and attempt the exam 4 time.

the age limit is for obc category is 21 to 33 years ( 3 years relaxation ). attempt the exam 7 times.

age limit for SC/ST category is 21 to 35 years and attempt chance till overage. means unlimited

The Geologist exam is conducted by UPSC for the post of Geologists.


The Geologist exam can be classified into 2 categories namely as:


Category I:


Post of Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Coal and Mines


Category II:


Post of Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources


For writing the Geologist exam you must satisfy certain eligibility criteria's and they may include:


>> Candidates who are applying for this exam must be a citizen of India.


>> Candidates must have a age limit of 21-32 years.


>> Candidates must have any of these education qualification:


1. Master's degree in Geology /Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized university
(OR)




2. Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology of Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad
(OR)
