Dear friend,

It depends upon your interest , for civil services examination candidates should be graduate from any recognized university it does not matter that in which fields you are passing your graduation.

You also can apply for civil services exam in the last year of graduation.

Your age must be under 21-30 years.

You must be citizen of India.

Selection Procedure :-

Main Exam
Interview

HISTORY,INDIAN POLITY AND GEOGRAPHY ARE the main subject whhich vastly covers the syllabus of premilinary of IAS. even if won't choose them in your main two subjects of your choices.

THOUGH YOU CAN CHOOSE OTHER SUBJECT ALSO WHICH ARE AS FOLLOWS

NOTE:- BUT THEY ARE NOT OF SO IMPORTANCE THEY CAN HELP ONLY WRITING YOUR MAIN EXAM.

To become IAS officer you can choose any subject in your higher secondary . pattern of UPSC exam. 1. preliminary 2. main 3. interview There will be objective type question in preliminary exam. If you pass this exam you will be qualified for main exam. Eligibility 1 student must be indian 2.Number of AttemptsFour attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.3 student must've completed his graduation , final year students are also eligible 4 age limit 21 to 30 years for general students maximum 33 years for OBC and 35 for SC ST students 5. no.of attempts for these exams are :General - 4OBC - 7SC/STs - No LimitFor more details please visithttp://upsc.gov.in

my opinion is if you choose science stream then it will be very useful for you.

QUALIFICATION: bachelor degree of any stream.
AGE LIMIT: 21-30 yrs for gen. SC/ST/OBC has age relaxation
NO.OF ATTEMPTS: 4 for gen. 7 for obc. no limits for sc/st.

IAS officers recruitment are done through Civil Services Exam.

Required Qualification to appear for Civil Services Exam

-You should have passed Graduation degree in any specialization from recognized Institute.
-You are for civil service exam while in graduation final year.
-UPSC Civil service exam has no restriction on graduation percentage.
-Your Age should be within the limit of 21 to 23 years.
-You must be a citizen of India.

So you can choose subject of your own choice.
