IAS officers recruitment are done through Civil Services Exam.
Required Qualification to appear for Civil Services Exam
-You should have passed Graduation degree in any specialization from recognized Institute.
-You are for civil service exam while in graduation final year.
-UPSC Civil service exam has no restriction on graduation percentage.
-Your Age should be within the limit of 21 to 23 years.
-You must be a citizen of India.

my opinion is if you choose science stream then it will be very useful for you.

To become IAS officer you can choose any subject in your higher secondary . pattern of UPSC exam. 1. preliminary 2. main 3. interview There will be objective type question in preliminary exam. If you pass this exam you will be qualified for main exam. Eligibility 1 student must be indian 2.Number of AttemptsFour attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.
