    Hello.

IFS stands for Indian Foreign Service. The IFS officer represents India in other countries. After training and also during training, IFS officer are posted outside India in other countries. So, IFS officers do not need to look for opportunities to go abroad. Rather they look for opportunities to travel to their motherland i.e. India as they are posted abroad full-time. IFS officers spend most of their tenure outside India in some other country serving India.

    Hello,
Yes the IFS officer gets several chances to participate in the Government tours of Foreign countries. After the completion of training program the IFS Officer is assigned his/her compulsory foreign language (CFL). After working behind the desk for some time in the Ministry of External Affairs the officer is posted to an Indian Mission abroad in a country where his compulsory foreign language is the native language and enrolled in a language course. The officer is expected to excel in his compulsory foreign language and pass the requisite examination to be confirmed in service.

You have to apply for Civil Services Examination to become an IFS Officer. Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of Indian Forest Service Officer.

The basic eligibility criteria for Civil Services Exam are as follows:
The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university. Final year degree students are also eligible
The age limit is 21-30 yrs
The maximum number of attempts for General category is 4
    The candidate should be Indian
