Hello.
IFS stands for Indian Foreign Service. The IFS officer represents India in other countries. After training and also during training, IFS officer are posted outside India in other countries. So, IFS officers do not need to look for opportunities to go abroad. Rather they look for opportunities to travel to their motherland i.e. India as they are posted abroad full-time. IFS officers spend most of their tenure outside India in some other country serving India.
