UPSC geologists exams is held for the two posts which are as below:

Post I:Geological survey of India

Post II:Central Ground Water Board.

The educational qualifications required is as below:

>>Master's degree in geology,applied geology or marine geology from a recognized university.Final year master' s degree candidates can also apply for the exam.Master's degree in mineral exploration for post in Geological survey of INDIA and master's degree in hydro geology for posts in CGWB.

>>The age limits are 21-32 years on first january of the year of examinations.Departmental candidates can get age relaxations.

The scheme of examination is :

Geology paper I:200 marks

Geology Paper II:200 marks

Geology Paper III:200 marks

Hydrogeology:200 marks

General English:100 marks.

Dear if you wants to apply for UPSC Geologist examination then you need to have following eligibility criteria for online application

A Master's degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized university or

A diploma in Associateship in Applied Geology of Indian School of Mines - Dhanbad or

Master's degree in Mineral Explorations from a recognized university or

Master's degree in Hydrogeology from a recognized university for the post of - CGWB

Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 32 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates and you can apply for this examination between these following dates in this year

Start date for online application - 24-08-2013

Last date for online application - 29-09-2013

Date for UPSC Geologist Exam - 07-12-2013
