Dear Friend,

You will know it by yourself once you became an IAS Officer.
Jokes apart most of Indian Government officials get that Old look new Ambassador Car as far as I know.
But from current point of view there might have been upgrade in the allotment of car with much good looks rather than Old Ambassador look.
Today I've seen many government employee and politicians in the range of cars like :
Honda City, Toyota Innova, Tata Indigo etc etc.
But still much of the staff has Old Ambassador as it is cheap, solid, durable and can be easily transferred into bullet proof car.
