IES(Indian Engineering Services) Exam is conducted by UPSC every year. The exam is conducted for various post. through IES exam you will got high pay scale. for IES you just have completed Engineering degree in any discipline from recognized college or University. you can also apply for IES while studying in final year of Engineering degree.
you can only write IES exam by selecting any one from the following four branches:
1. Mechanical Engineering
2. Electrical Engineering
3. Civil Engineering
4. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
for IES your age should be within 21 years to 30 years. There is also relaxation in upper age according to government norms vise 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
IN IES there is tough competition and work hard to crack the exam.

The minimum qualification required to be eligible for applying in Indian Engineering Service is
A ENGINEERING DEGREE THAT IS A B.TECH OR B.E IN ANY STREAM.
Stream does not matter at all,only a B.TECH degree is required.
Even there is no problem regarding percentage.
Only pass marks is required in engineering degree to apply for IES.
But you have only four branches of stream to apply for in IES
1)Civil Engineering.
2)Mechanical Engineering.
3)Electronics and Communication Engineering.
4)Electrical Engineering.
The four streams are only available when you are applying for Indian Engineering Services.
Age minimum is 21 years and maximum is 30 years.

If a candidate is a student of the engineering and in a final year of the examination then he or she can apply for the IES examination so you should not need to worry for the same as if you are an engineering graduate that will be the enough qualification to apply for the same in other way if a candidate have an MSC that is master degree in radio physics, electronics and telecommunication then he can also apply for the same.
If you like to get some more information then you need to go through the eligibility criteria for the IES examination as follows-
Graduate in engineering from a recognised university or equivalent can apply for the engineering services examination.
MSC degree or its equivalent qualification in wireless communication , electronics, radio physics or radio engineering as a special subjects are also acceptable.
Candidates appearing in the final year of the examination can also apply for the same.
Examination pattern-
Written test there will be 5 papers.
Paper 1 will include objective general ability test part A will be general english.
Part B general studies.
Paper 2 and 3 objective will be based on the civil engineering /mechanical/electronics/electrical, electronics and telecommunication. 200 marks for each papers.
Paper 4 and 5 conventional type means essay type.
total marks for the written examination will be 1000.
Personality test 200.

For IES exam one have to fulfill the below mention criteria.
=> one must be completed B.E./B.Tech from any recognized university in any field.
=> A M.Sc student also eligible for the exam.
=> A final year student also eligible for the exam.
=> Age limit:
21-30 for general cast
21-33 for obc cast
21-35 for sc/st cast
=> There are no limits on number of attempts , one can give the exam as many time as possible.
So if you fulfill the above criteria then you can give the exam.
Exam having three parts.
In part 1 having three objective type papers.
In part 2 has two descriptive type papers.
At last there will be interview.
