Age limit is 21-30 for OC, 21-33 for MBC, 21-35 for SC/ST...

You should not worry for the same because whatever branch you will fill in the application form you will get the paper related to the same because paper will not be made different as per the qualification so you should not worry for the same.
There are every branches are inclided in the engineering services exam like civil services/electrical/electronics/electronics and telecommunication etc.
If you prepare well for the examination and also get the proper coaching for the same then you will clear the examination easily i cannot say for the ranks because it totalyy depends on the number of people applying for the exam.

-candidates who are appearing for degree final year examination can also apply for this IES ..

-Those who had passed need to show the proof of passing

    exam pattern=consists of 2 parts

Re: Is IES exam common for all the engineering disciplines? Which subjects will be involved in IES exam? Is it easy to get rank in IES exam?

    Dear friend,
although IES examination is open for all engineering branches students but since UPSC conducts IES through only 4 branches namely:-
    >Electrical Engineering
    >Mechanical Engineering
    >Electronics and telecommunication Engineering
    >Civil Engineering

some of other eligibility criteria required for appearing in IES examination are:-

1.You should be a citizen of India.

2.The age limit is 21-30 years for General candidates with a relaxation in age of 3,5 and 5 years for OBC,SC and ST candidates respectively.

3.You should have passed your graduation in Engineering from any engineering stream and from a government recognized university.

The subjects involved in question paper are the subjects studied during engineering graduation through above 4 mentioned branches, general English, aptitude and general studies.

Thank you and all the best

Re: Is IES exam common for all the engineering disciplines? Which subjects will be involved in IES exam? Is it easy to get rank in IES exam?

dear friend. the indian engineering services examination is not the common exam amongst all the branches. It is different according the branch which are eligible for it and only questions related to the respective branches are asked in the exam.
for giving the exam you need to be a gradaut4e in any of the following streams
    mechanical/electrical/civil/ECE
moreover your age should be in between 21-30 years of age.
a relaxation of 3 and 5 years is given to the obc and the sc/st category respectively
