* IAS exam consist mainly two exam i.e,
Civil services Preliminary and Mains exam.
* Preliminary exam consists two papers of General studies(Compression, politics, economic, English,mental ability, interspersion and communication skills, reasoning and other general studies papers)
i)Paper I-200 marks-2 hours duration
ii)Paper II-200 marks-2 hours duration
* This exam consist objective type paper including Negative marking(1/3th of Total marks).For every three wrong answers, you will be get 2 marks deducted.
Civil services Mains exam consist;-
----Your choosing language papers
----English
----Essay
---General studies
---Your optional subject papers
* After clearing these two exam, you will be called for Personality test.
* Mains exam is conducted in after two months later preliminary exam.

The acronym IAS stands for the Indian Administrative Services.The examination for this services is conducted by the examination conducting council of India that is Union Public service commission every year.
In order to appear for the entrance examination called Civil services examination ,you will have to fulfill the certain eligibility criteria which is as below:
>>First of all you should be a bachelor's degree holder in any discipline from a recognized university .If you are in final year of graduation then also you can apply for the exam.
>>The age limitations for the Civil services examinations is :
1.General category :21-30 years
2.OBC category:21-33 years
3.SC/ST: 21-35 years.
OBC and SC/ST get as age relaxations as well as they have advantages in no of attempts as obc have seven attempts and sc/st has no limit on it in comparison to general candidates who have four attempts only.
>>You should be an Indian citizen.
This exam is the toughest entrance exam so you need to do hard and smart work both in order to get success.If you think that you cannot do preparation by yourself donot hesitate in taking coaching

There three steps in UPSC Exam.
>> First Step Is Prelims Exam.
>> There is multiple choice Questions paper
>> There are two Paper
1. General English
2. General Studies
>> If You clear Prelims then you have to appear in Mains Exam
In this Exam there also two paper of Descriptive type. Subject you have choose at the time of form filling.
>> If you clear Mains Exam then there is Personal Interview.
If you clear these three steps then you will become IAS Officer.

IAs or Indian Administrative service exam is one of the prestigious civil service exam conducted by UPSC for recruitment to various All India service.
The exam consist of 3 stages:
1.Preliminary Exam.
2.Main Exam.
3.Interview.
Exam Pattern:
Preliminary Exam:
The exam shall now comprise of 2 compulsory paper of 200 marks each & of 2 hours duration each.The questions are of objective types.The exam usually conducted in month of May.It is just a qualifying exam.
Main Exam (written):
After qualifying the preliminary exam the candidate allow to appear the Main exam.Candidate are allow to choose optional subject in the Main exam.All the question papers for the exam will be essay type.Each paper will be 3 hours duration each.
The exam will be conducted usually in the month of October/November.
Interview:
The final round is Interview.The Interview is mainly judge the Mental ability,the intellectual qualities & their personality.
