You need to practice more and more for it and only then only you will be at ease for solving questions in the exam...
The more you prepare the more you it will help you to solve it quite confidently..
UPSC IFS and IAS/IPS/IRS have common Prelims paper... The only difference is that after clearing Prelims there's a seperate MAINS paper for IFS and Seperate MAINS paper for IAS/IRS/IPS.
In Prelims, there are two main section General Studies And CSAT.
To solve reasoning and english question you should refer a proper book fot it... R.S.Agarwal is well known book for Clearing CSAT.
Their is no particular strategy here..Do buy it... and practice daily .... then Practice how to solve question within a specific time... it will help in building your confidence level too.
Or you can join Coaching centres also... it will entirely on you... whether to join or not.
