What are your recommendations for IAS? Is B.Tech (Food Technology) a good option for medical students? I live in a small town named Una in Himachal Pradesh. Should I go to a good place for coaching?

I am 17 yrs. old and I have just passed 2 class.Iam a medical student. I have applied for B.Tech in food technology. I have applied to palampur agriculture university. First of all is it a good option at all. And Is it fine for IAS, because I finally want to go for IAS. Plus there is another option of B.Sc. from punjab university chandigarh. I am not prefering B.A. because it is not a safe option. What do you recommend? Also I live in a small town named Una in Himachal Pradesh. My parents want me to stay here and prepare for IAS from here only. Iwish to go out. Should I listen to my parents?
