Indian history/Law/ Management/ Geography are the best subjects to score marks and gain knowledge regarding further job. In these management and Law will be quiet easier as they don't have much to mug up and the subject will also be interesting.

in my opinion , in arts the best scoring subject is history ,
but do hard work and focus that you will get more marks in each and every subject .

In arts stream there are so many subjects to choose but as you want from us to tell you the scoring subjects from the point

of view of IAS examination so here i want to tell you that it is depend on your interests, because if you have an interest in the

subject that it will be easy for you and if a subject will be easy for you than definitely you can earn good marks in it.


the best option to taking optional subject for mains are those subject by with you complete your graduation because you have deep

knowledge in that subjects .


but if you wish to take other subjects then your graduation subjects so according to my point of view you should take geography and

history because thees are the scoring subjects in arts background .

but these are the secondary thing in the reference of the examination the primary thing is that you are eligible for the same or not ???

1. the candidate must have a degree of graduation ( obtained with a govt. recognized university)

2. the candidate must be an Indian citizen.


Age requirement:-


1. for general :- 21-30 yrs.

2. for obc :- 21-33 yrs.

3. for sc/st category:- 21-35 yrs.


No. of attempts :-


1. restriction for general category:4

2. restriction for obc category;- 7 .

3. no restriction for sc/st category.

there is no special subjects in any field in which you can score easily and very well.
Every subject in the UPSC is tough and the questions are asked from any of the subjects are very tough.
So there is no any special subject in IPS which is easy.
You can choose any of the subject in which you are more interested.
First thing you must keep in you mind that you must have a deep knowledge of the-subject which you are choosing for the IPS exam.
You can apply for the exam after graduation and your age must lies in between 21-30 years.

IPS(Indian Police Services) is conducted by the UPSC every year.This is the part of Civil Services.To appear IPS a candidate first to crack prelim(CSAT) then mains exam.finally interview.

IPS ELIGIBILITY:-

1.A Graduate or a final year candidate from the recognized University in any discipline can write IPS entrance exam.

2.Age; General: 21-30 years OBC: 21-33 years. S/C S/T: 21-35 years, PWD: 21-40 years.

3.Nationality: Indian.

4.Attempts: General, 4 attempts, OBC: 7 attempts, S/C S/T: No limit.

If you are a Bachelor of Arts then you can opt History, on an average this is the best option to score high.
