Eligibility Criteria:
1. Graduation in any stream
2. Age Limit:
- general: 21 years to 30 years
- OBC: 21 years to 33 years
- SC/St: 21 years to 35 years

Since you are a dentist ,you must have completed your graduation that is bachelor's degree ,so you are eligible for the civil services examinations
IPS means Indian police services.
Minimum requirement: Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university.
Final year candidates are also eligible for the exam.
Age limitations:
general category: 21-30 years
OBC: 21-33 years
SC/ST: 21-35 years.
It is one of the toughest exams conducted in India .You need to work very hard to get success.if you belong to general category then you will get only 4 chances and obc will get 7 chances and for sc/st there is no limit they can give exams till their age limit.

Definitely a Dentist can become IPS Officer.
Minimum qualification required to apply for Civil Services Examination is Graduation or equivalent in any stream from Recognised University.
So if you have the equivalent degree from recognised University than you can perfectly apply for UPSC Examination.
Also your age should be between 21 to 30 years if applying in General Category.
Relaxation in age is only for Reserved Category Candidates.
So if you belong to reserved category you can definitely eligible for age relaxation and fee exemption.
