Can a person whose vision is weak apply for Civil Services Examination?

my broth
er want to appear for civil service examination. But his vision is very weak. He is almost equivalent to a blind person. I want to ask, weather he can apply for civil services or not ?

Dear if you have a weak eyesight then also you can apply for IAS exam because there is no criteria for physical and medical standards for IAS officer post but if you are willing to apply for IPS officer post then you should have decided eligibility criteria and medical standards and physical also according to the board of selection

You can apply for this exam if you have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible

Age of the candidate should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age would be provided as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

You can apply for IAS Officer exam between - 02-02-2013 to 04-03-2013 and you can appear for prelims exam at - 19th of may 2013 and there would be 2 papers conducted in this test for 400 marks
