Eligibility Criteria for UPSC - SCRA - Special Class Railway Apprentice Examination 2013 :

Candidate should have passed in intermediate class with mathematics and any one of the physics or chemistry as a compulsory subject from a recognized board or

Graduate with mathematics and physics subjects from a recognized university are also eligible for this exam

Age of the candidate should not be less than 17 years and more than 21 years and relaxation in upper age would be provided to reserved category candidates as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC category candidates

Dates for upcoming UPSC SCRA Examination : Dear candidate, SCRA Exam is conducted only once in a year by UPSC board and this year examination has been conducted at - 20th January 2013 so that the next SCRA Examination would be conducted in next year so that you have at least 10 months to prepare for this examination and before preparing for any competitive examination, you should know about the examination pattern of this exam which is following :

1. Paper I - General Ability Test : General Knowledge, English Language and Psychological test - 200 marks

2. Paper II - Physical Science test : Chemistry and Mathematics - 200 marks

3. Paper III - Mathematics/Quantitive Aptitude/Numerical Ability - 200 marks

All three papers would be conducted in objective type pattern and you will get 2 hours for each paper to solve

How to prepare for SCRA Examination to get qualified

Dear if you are pursuing class XI or XII then you must and must start preparation for this exam because until you would not take the preparation in your habit, you may not prepare well for this exam so that you should start your preparation as soon as possible because the competitive exams are not so easy for each candidate those who are topper in the school, so that if you are pursuing class 12th also then must prepare for this exam :

>> You should make your strategy that you would complete at least one part of the paper everyday means if you are preparing for GK then you should start studying news papers, monthly current affairs magazines and other books so that your this part would be separated

>> Mathematics is a major part of this examination so that first of all you should only care about the mathematics, and get very good command over this subject and for this, you need to purchase at least 2-3 different publication books and make practice with the help of books and you should try to solve each and every question with a fixed time

>> If you are good in physics and chemistry at school level then it would not take so much time to prepare for this examination because the chemistry and physics would be asked of the school level but must study in depth for both of these subjects and NCERT books of class XI and XII are really helpful for you

>> If possible then you should not hesitate to go to coaching classes for this exam because competition is not easy in the world and if you want to refine yourself in the competition then you need to go to coaching institute and get prepared well

>> Collect the study material of the coaching institute and books, then prepare according to the instructions of the coaching institutes and you must give at least 3-4 hours everyday for your practice in the coaching institute and when you come in speed then you should start solving one separate paper everyday for each subject

>> You should make a strategy for your daily routines and fix a separate time for your study in which you should not have any other outdoor work

SCRA stands for the Special Class Railway apprentice examinations.This exam is organized once every year by the UPSC.

The eligibility criteria for this examination is as below:

>>You should have passed/appearing for the 10+2 from a recognized board with PCM as compulsory subjects.

>>Your age should be between 17-21 years.

>>You must be an Indian citizen.

After clearing this examinations ,you will get chance to pursue your bachelor of technology from institute like BIT Meshra in mechanical engineering.

Now coming to your query ,this year SCRA exam had already been organised by the UPSC .Now you have to wait for the next year SCRA exam that will held in 2014 for which notification will be released in November 2013 by the UPSC.
