UPSC Civil Services exams is the most prestigious exam conducted every year.
The Exam Application forms are now available Online and there is no other mode
of submission of the application except ONLINE MODE.
Tentative Dates (liable to changes) :
Exam notification-November/December of previous year
Conduct of Exam-May
The Civil Services Prelims exams was conducted on 20.05.2012 this year.
For 2013 exam notifications are yet to advertised,Wait for it.
Exam notifications are advertised by UPSC in the Employment News,
some leading newspaper daily and on its websites.

You can fill the forms online on www.upsconline.nic.in when notification is advertised if you meet the eligibility criteria.

Fees :
General category candidates have to pay the fees mentioned in the notification of 2013.
The current fees is Rs 50/- to be paid Offline in cash at any SBI branch OR online through internet banking in SBI
and some of its associate banks OR by Use of Visa/Master/Debit/Credit cards.
Candidates clearing the Prelims exams and getting admitted to Mains exams
will be required to pay a further fee of Rs. 200/-.
Tentatively, You can apply for UPSC civil services preliminary exam from 2nd February 2013 till 4th march 2013.
UPSc does not distribute or sell application forms, you have to apply online only via upsconline.nic.in
Application form has to be filled in 2 stages part 1 and part 2 registration. In part 1 registration, You have to fill all details like name, date of birth, educational qualification, address, community and other basic details about you. Be cautious while you enter these details, because once given the details cannot be changed. once you finish part 1 registration you will get a registration ID which you should note down carefully. Using this registration id only,you have to complete part 2 registration and you have to download admit card later.
In part 2 registration ,You have to upload your scanned signature and photo. The instructions to fill the application form, the specifications for photo and signature etc will be given in detail in upsc website itself at the time of applying.
Application fee for general candidate is Rs. 50 (women candidates are exempted from fee payment).

Then choose the desired exam and fill your details
this concludes 1st paart of your registration
Then pay the fee via debit/credit cards or net banking and you will get a confirmation mail in the mail id you provded.Note down you registration number and keep it for future use
this conclude part 2 of the registration and your form has been successfully submitted.
