Which degree is most suitable for Civil Services in future?

Which degree to pursue best suited for civil service exam???

    HELLO,
My dream is to be in CIVIL SERVICES. I am 20 now and working in INDIAN RAILWAYS as TECHNICIAN. I have just started my AMIE and will write my first exam in DECEMBER 2013 ( Winter 2013 exam). But i am confused is it the right choice made by me???? as we all know AMIE is a very lengthy course. Now i am planning to opt something like B.A, the reason being
    1) i will be able to complete it in just 3 yrs
    2) it will give me enough time for preparing for CIVIL SERVICE EXAM
    3) most of the subjets of B.A overlap with the GENERAL STUDIES syllabus of CIVIL SERVICE EXAM.

Forget to mention i completed my HS from CBSE with 83% marks and have a good grip on science and maths.

I want your kind and wise suggestion regarding this issue.
SHOULD I GO FOR B.A OR CONTINUE WITH AMIE???? But itz the CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION which is ultimate for me.plzzzz help me
    THANKING IN ANTICIPATION

    REGARDS
    P.REVANTH KUMAR

Whatever degree you choose for the graduation that is totally useful in the civil services examination because there is nothing related with the graduation as you need to choose the optional subjects as per the interest, and that is obvious that the thing which you have more knowledge you will choose that only.
So it will be better for you to choose the subject from the list of optional subjects for the graduation so that it will be easier for you to apply for the civil services examination.
That will also helpful for you in the mains to clear the examination easily.
I always prefer you to take the easiest subject as per your views so that it will be easierfor you to qualify the examination.
First stage involves the CSAT civil services aptitude test.
In this stage you need to give two papers and those two papers will include general studies so that you must be good in general studies as well.
Total marks of the CSAt examination is 400.
So thjere will be 2 papers each of them consict of 200 marks.
Questions will be the multiple types.
After the qualifying of CSAt you need to choose the optional subjects for the MAINS examination, so first of all you need to concentrate on the CSAT and after that you need to go for the MAINS.
There will be 9 papers and total marks in the papers will be 2000.
After that personality test and that include 300 marks.
If not qualifythe exam then never loose the heart because it is the toughest then try again for the same.

    Hi,
dear friend the graduation subjects always play a very key role in Mains examination for Civil Services Examination. In my opinion you should select that stream of graduation which you think is easiest for you to study and understand because if you have a good command on your graduation subjects then you can opt your graduation subject as optional subject for Mains examination which will definitely help you to score decent marks in Mains. If you subjects included in B.A. as easiest to understand, study and learn then you should go for BA as graduation but if you find your command better on science stream subjects than arts subjects then you should go for B.Sc for graduation.

And definitely B.A. and B.Sc will save your precious 1 year.So think what you find better to understand-arts,science or engineering.I hope my suggestions will help you in any way.

Thank you and all the best
