There are three stages in the PSI-STI-Assistant Exam and they are:
Preliminary Examination
Main Examination
Physical Test and Interview.
Prelims Exam :
This test is conducted for checking the General Ability of a student.The Syllabus is of 10th std Level Questions are in both in English and Marathi mediums and it contains multiple choice 150 Questions.
The Exam Centre is at all district places in Maharashtra.If you are able to qualify the exam then you have to appear in the Main exams.
Preliminary Examination consist of 150 Questions,300 Marks and Duration of the exam is 11/2 hours.

Main Examination:
This exam has multiple choice type of questions. Syllabus is of MPSC Civil Service Preliminary exam kind.The medium of the Question Paper is both English and Marathi medium.
This exam is conducted at 4 places in Maharashtra:Mumbai,Pune , Aurangabad , Nagpur.
Those who are able to clear the Main Examination are called for the Physical Test. after which is the Interview.

Only those who score more than 100 marks qualify for the Interview.
