UPSC does not conduct any examination for the merchant navy.The list of examinations conducted by UPSC every year with their important dates for the year 2013 are as follow:

Note : NDA and SCRA examinations are have minimum educational requirement that is 10+2 from a recognised board.Rest of examinations have bachelor's degree as its basic requirement.

Yes,UPSC conduct exams for Merchant Navy.
To join Merchant Navy the aspirant have to clear the written exam conducted by UPSC which is held twice a year.Those will get selected in these test will have to pass various medical test and also physical test.The final selection of the selection procedure is interview and those who will clear the round can get in to the Merchant Navy.

No, upsc do not conduct the merchant navy exam.
Upsc conducts the CDS and NDA exam.
With the help of the CDS and NDA exam you enter the Indian Navy,
Indian air force
Indian army
The age limit for the NDA exam is the 16.5 year to 19 years.
For this exam only unmarried male candidate is eligible.
Qualification is required +2 pass with science subject.
For cds exam the age limit for navy exam: 19 to 22 years
Qualification is required graduation in science stream.

To join in merchant navy you have to apply for "Combined Defense Services " examination conducted by UPSC twice in every year.

To apply for CDS examination you must complete of Final year of Graduation n Engineering then only you are eligible to apply.
Age limits to apply are 19 years to 23 years only..

No, UPSC does not conduct exam for Merchant Navy.

Instead UPSC conducts CDS exam for Indian Naval Academy.

CDS- Combined Defence Services.

To be eligible to apply for this exam , you should be -

A Graduate from a recognised university.

Your age shouldbe between 19years - 22years.

Syllabus of CDS exam –

General English – 100 marks

General knowledge – 100 marks

Elementary Maths – 100 marks
