Sorry to say there is no way to enter the merchant navy through the upsc exam.

you enter only the navy through upsc exam.

upsc take the CDS exam.

with the help of the CDS exam you enter in the Navy.

The cds exam held two times in a year.

the age limit for the cds (Navy) is 21 to 24 years.

the qualification is required the graduation passed with the science subject.

You cannot enter in merchant navy through upsc since merchant navy does not come under government jobs.
You can only join Indian Navy through upsc exams.
If you want to join merchant navy then you have to apply for IMU.
IMU stands for Indian Maritime University.This university has direct admission process for jobs of merchant navy.

Hello guest sorry to say that but you cannot apply for mechant navy via upsc.Because upsc is a govt firm i.e union public service commision and it is olny for post of government jobs so you can apply for indian navy but not for merchant navy bye
