Which UPSC examination should I clear to become a Drug Inspector? What does this sentence mean "Specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a recognized university"? I just completed B.Pharmacy.

Hi Sir/Madam,

I am Prajakta Gaikwad, I have completed my B pharmacy this year from pune University.

I want to know about qualification require for drug inspector for all the states in India and also the criteria for applying for examination of the same.

I have visited UPSC site but I was confused about which examination type am I suppose to take into consideration for applying for drug inspector examination?

I am also not clear with the term, "specialisation in clinical pharmacology or microbiology from a recognized university". Am I suppose to do some specialisation course or M pharm in those subjects? or I can directly apply for the exam? If I can apply for the exam then what all things I need to prepare and where will I get classes for preparation of the same.

Usually Drug inspector exam is conducted by state public service commission. eligibility is B pharamcy but if you have done M pharmacy in pharmacology then you have advantage to make good impression in interview as well.

"specialisation in clinical pharmacology or microbiology from a recognized university" means that M. pharmacy in pharmacology or M.Sc in microbiology from Govt. Recognised uni. and pune uni. is Govt. recognised one. so you dont need to worry. you can directly apply for exam as well with b pharmacy only.
