UPSC conducts the Combined Defence Services(CDS) Exam twice a year.
Recruitments are made to the Naval Academy,Airforce Academy,Indian Military Academy(IMA) and Officers Training Academy(OTA).

Eligibility For CDS Exams :

Age Limit :
OTA-19-25yrs
IMA-19-24yrs
Airforce Academy-19-23yrs
Naval Academy-19-22yrs

There is no relaxation of age limit for any category of candidates.

Educational Qualification :
Minimum educational qualification is graduation from a recognised University.

CDSE-Combined Defence Service Examination-It is a entrance exam for the candidates to get selected in the all three wings of the defence that is in air force,navy and army.
Actually through CDSE you can get in to various academy of the respective wings.You have four options,you click for your preference.

1)IMA-Indian Military Academy-a entry in the army-you need to have done your graduation(minimum) in any stream to apply for the IMA.
Age limit-19 to 24 years(at the time of commencement of the course).

2)OTA-Officers Training Academy-a entry in the army-you need to have done your graduation(minimum) in any stream to apply for the OTA.
Age limit-19 to 25 years(at the time of commencement of the course).

3)NA-Naval Academy- a entry in the navy-you need to have done B.SC(Physics and mathematics) OR ELSE B.TECH degree.
Age limit-19 to 22 years(at the time of commencement of the course).

4)AFA-Air Force Academy- a entry in the air force-you need to have completed your graduation from any stream but with physics and maths in 10+2.
Age limit-19 to 23 years(at the time of commencement of the course).

The CDSE is conducted twice in year,the notifications are released in the month of the June and October.

The CDS Examination is divided into Written examination , Physical Test and SSB Interview . The Written examination is divided into three selection , one is general knowledge , second one is Mathematics and Last one is English Language . All the paper are Objective type questions .
