Can I give CDS exam while studying 2nd year B.E? How to prepare for CDS exam?

namaste sir, i am in b.e. 2nd year, and i want to qualify cds exam after completion of degree. Can i give exam right now? Because age limit is very less, only 23yrs. And how can i prepare for it? Also suggest books. Thank you.

You can give the CDS exam in the final year of your graduation and for preparation you can check the syllabus and try to make your concepts clear and try to study your preparation daily for the exam ..

Sorry sir but at present you are not eligible to apply for the CDS( Common Defence Service ) Examination .

This is because at present you are doing your 23nd year bachelors degree .

To be eligible for the CDS Examination you should've to be minimum doing the last year of your graduation without any backlog .

For your ready information the detailed educational qualification for the CDS Examinations are as follows -:
(i) If you want to join in the I.M.A. or Officers� Training Academy - You should have an Degree from a recognised University or equivalent.
(ii) If you want to join in the Indian Naval Academy - You should have Degree in Engineering or degree in B.Sc.along with
Physics or Mathematics subjects for having an NCC entry.
(iii) If you want to join in the Air Force Academy - You should have a Degree from an recognised University
along with Physics and Mathematics subjects
selected at the 10+2 level or should have a degree in Bachelor of Engineering .

yes ,you are eligible for CDS exam but you won't join any training academy before completing your BE .As you are expected to complete your engineering with min 60 % so work hard to maintain that.Some branches are-MechanicalCivil engineeringComputer science and engineeringAutomobile engineeringAeronautical ECE Electrical etc

For CDS exam Age limit for Girl Candidate is 25 years and Minimm age is 19 years.

>> Bachelors Degree in any field with Minimum 60% marks and should have subjects Physics and Maths in class 12th or BE/BTECH Pass with minimum 60% marks

CDSE is a combined entry in all three wings of defence.
It is a entry for the graduates candidates only,one after completing graduation is eligible for applying.

The candidates who are studying in final year are also eligible for applying.but not the one who are studying in their second year,you will have to wait till final year of graduation.

CDS stands for the Combined defense Services .This examination is organised twice every year by the UPSC.

The eligibility criteria for the CDS exam is as below:

Academic qualifications:

>>Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.Final year candidates can also apply for the exam.

>>For Indian Navy and Airforce ,you must have physics and mathematics at 10+2 level or bachelor's degree in engineering.

So sorry ,being a second year student of bachelor engineering you cannot apply for the exam.

The age limit for the CDS exam is :

>>IMA:19-24 years

>>INA:19-22 years

>>OTA:19-25 years.

Note: For this exam ,both male and female can apply for the exam.

For preparing for this exam I would suggest you to join a coaching institute like :

>>Baalnoi academy

>>Disha classes.

>>JTS institute.

>>They will guide you well and you need to do self study as much as possible.

no you cannot give the cds examination right now, since you need to produce the degree certificate at the time of your admission in ima/ota. so you can apply in you final year.
inorder to prepare for cds keep your general studies updated and take a book of arihant for the preparation of cds written.
