Hello
Let me tell you that 'UPSC' is not a EXAM,it is rather the body which is responsible for conducting various exams and also the recruitment for the various high ranked officials for the government jobs. The UPSC is the body that conducts all the necessary process for the recruitment for the IAS,IPS,IFS etc.
UPSC conducts various exams IAS,IPS,CDSE(COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE EXAMINATION),CPF(CENTRAL POLICE FORCE),CMS(COMBINED MEDICAL SERVICE)etc. Now it is important that you understand that CIVIL SERVICES is nothing but the IAS(INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES),IPS(INDIAN POLICE SERVICES),IFS(INDIAN FOREST SERVICES) etc.As UPSC conducts so many exams,it is usually written as UPSC exams but the civil services is nothing but one of the exams that is conducted by the UPSC.
Hence UPSC is a body ,and civil service is a exam for the civilian service conducted by the UPSC only.
