The acronym CDS stands for the Combined defence services examinations.This examination is conducted twice every year by the UPSC.It is the entrance examinations for getting entrance into various academies of the defence which are as follows:

1.Indian Military academy:

>>Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university.Final year candidates are also eligible to apply for the exam.

>>The age limit is 19-24 years

2.Indian Naval academy:

>>Bachelor's degree in engineering/technology is the minimum requirement.

>>The age limit is 19-22 years

3.Officer training academy: The age limit is 19-25 years.Educational requirement is same as IMA.

For CDS exam both male and female candidates can apply.

You must be Indian citizen.

The examination pattern is as below:

Note: The date of registration for the CDS II in 2013 is starting from 25/05/2013,you can find the examination code and educational qualification code in Employment news when registration starts for it.

You must be physically fit.

CDS exam conducted By UPSC on national basis for recruitment of Officers for defense. After getting selection candidates directly get entry in Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy or Air force Academy. After successful completion of training one can get the post of Second Lieutenant in Army and same in other.

For this exam one should be a graduate in any stream from a recognized university. Candidate should be an Indian Citizen and age should be 19 to 24 years.

CDS stands � Combined Defence Service Examination

This exam is conducted by the UPSC. There fore This exam is also called as the UPSC CDS exam. This year CDS exam is conducted on February 17, 2013

The candidates who wish to join the Indian defence fields like Navy, Air force and Army after the graduation such candidates should clear CDS exam. the graduates can apply for this exam after the completing the graduation from he recognized college ro University

Education Qualification

You should complete graduation from the recognized college or University. If you want to join the Indian Navy, Air force then you must complete +12 level with Mathematics and Physics otherwise If you completed the graduation any discipline then you are only eligible for the army

In the Graduation you should have minimum 60% aggregate including all papers.
