dear aspirant,
history and geography is the best optional subjects as far as i know
if you have chosen history don't worry as you have done the right thing because it will also help you in the general studies preparation
Dear Aspirant
Yes it will help you in preparing General Studies in mains as well as work as optional. And it will help in paper 1 of preliminary examination as some of the MCQ will be based on history but the syllabus of history is vary vast and you need to keep yourself motivated in order to cover it.Due to high syllabus don't leave the subject in middle. It will then waste your time.So please keep that in mind.
