in the new pattern of UPSC civil services the Gerenal studies part is increase which binifit both arts and science students.
while in previous pattern more seats will be filled by engineering and as well as medical students.
now the competition is based on the knowledge.

New pattern of examination will benefit those students who have real aptitude for civil service examination irrespective of science or arts graduate.Rural students are equally benefited as they will get equal playing field .Optional paper have been reduced and more emphasis has been given on general studies .So students who do continuous study in a planned and systematic way will be benefited.
