Hello,
You have to apply for Civil Service Examination. Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of Indian Forest Service Officer. No the preparation process is not different from IAS since the Exam is same.
The change is in the selection process at higher levels (Personal Interview), since before interview you have to specify the post for which you are appearing so you are tested according to that post. You just have to satisfy the basic eligibility criteria to appear for the Exam.
The basic eligibility criteria for Civil Services Exam are as follows:
The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university. Final year degree students are also eligible
The age limit is 21-30 yrs
The maximum number of attempts for General category is 4
The candidate should be Indian
