There are two options to join Indian Army as an officer. The first one is NDA and the second is CDS. Here you are not eligible for the NDA exam because you have crossed maximum age limit for this exam because age limit for this exam is 16.5 to 19 years. So, you have other option and that is CDS.

Requirements for this exam are as follows:

Qualification: Candidate should have graduate degree from a recognized university
Age : 19 to 24 years

The best option to get the job in the army after graduation is to apply for the CDSE.

CDSE-Common Defense Service Examination-It is a entrance through which you can apply for the

~IMA-Indian Military Academy-a entry in to the army-the qualification required is graduation from any stream,age limit-19 to 24 years at the time of commencement of the course.

~OTA-Officers Training Academy-a entry in to the army-the qualification required is graduation from any stream,age limit-19 to 25 years (at the time of commencement of the course)

~AFA-Air Force Academy-a entry in to the air force-the qualification required is graduation from any stream but with physics and maths in 10+2,age limit-19 to 23 years(at the time of commencement of the course).

~NA-naval Academy-a entry in to the navy-the qualification required is B.SC(physics and maths) or else a engineering degree,age limit-19 to 22 years(at the time of commencement of the course).

As mentioned above you need to apply for the IMA and OTA in order to get in to the army.
The CDSE is conducted twice in a year,the notifications are released in the month of the June and October in the employment news paper and in the official website of UPSC.

Yes of course you can join as an Army Officer.
You have the 2 modes to join as an Army Officer i.e, either NDA or CDS.

NDA stands for National Defence Academy.

>> If you have passed your 10+2 or presently in 12th class then you can give NDA exam.

>> You should be unmarried male candidate to give NDA exam.
Your age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 yrs.

>> You should be medically fit.

>> Your Nationality should be Indian.

CDS stands for Combined Defence Services.

>> You can give CDS if you have completed your Graduation or are in the final year.

>> Your age must be between 19 to 25 yrs.

>> You must be Indian.

*** Both exams firstly conduct written exam.
*** Those who qualify in written examination are called for Interview.
*** After Interview medical test is held.

Yes, offcourse you can join army at the age of 20 yrs. but through CDS exam which conduct by UPSC.
